I would like to get some ideas on different delt workouts from my meso brothers. No matter What I do I just can't wake up with sore delts. Today was shoulders and my wo was

Seated db press 4 sets w 1 warmup. Pyramid up last set drop set
Seated smith machine press 4 sets same weight ss with side lateral raise machine
Bent over lateral raises ss with rear pec dec flyes 5sets

I usually do traps with back and add in upright rows,db lat raises both front and side, and I use the cable tower as well. I'm havin some development just not all that id like. I train a single
Body part each day 6 days wk. what's your delt wo consist of.

I am seeing progress but not as much as my other body parts. Shoulders def lagging behind. I dont think soreness dictates muscle growth but my tris, chest, and legs usually are sore the next day for a few hours. It's my indicator that I trained hard the day before .im probably being hard on myself as we all do but I still don't think I'm hitting them hard enough.

I like this reply lol. Totally not what I was expecting but a very good reply nonetheless.

You probably already know but the smaller the muscle the slower the strength and size gains in that muscle as a general rule. You shouldn't expect delts to grow as fast as legs and chest. I know you're not saying that but just giving you an outside perspective on things.

When I say soreness is a poor indicator of progress it's bc you can make progress with or without soreness just like you can make no progress with or without soreness. There's a great article I could link you too if you're interested in the read but it is lengthy I'll warn you lol.

If you are seeing progress than that's what matters at the end of the day. Progress in delts will come slower than a lot of other muscle groups but that should be expected. I can't offer you much in regards to different exercise to do but in terms of programming things:

Concentrate on compound movements that involve delts. Keep reps relatively low but try to increase weight whenever possible. Any isolation or more focused work you can do some work in the higher rep range.

Good luck and hope you keep progressing.

I've never been able to train Lats and Traps together. I am usually fried after lats and cant properly stimulate traps. I do rear delts on back and traps on shoulder day.
I press on the smith machine first after lots of warm up - DB side laterals, DB press, Cable side laterals with positive, static and negative failure. Front DB raise.
3 sets each, heavy, failure on the last set.
Strict form, spotter ect... Only get to fuck up bad on shoulder day once and then everyday is leg day!

Up the volume my brother. If 1 bodypart a week aint getting the job done, up it to 2xa week.

Skip ur front delts, pre-exhaust shoulders by training rear delts first, followed by ur lateral work.

Move on to ur pressing. Ridiculous blood flood at this point . Last move onto a modified upright row. Wide enough to not aggravate ur anterior delt.

Slightly bent at the waist. Ur pulling up into ur chest as if thru to ur traps. This movement will continue to flood the side, rear delts as well as the traps without overly emphazibg them, more fir the tie in.

Thanks bud for the info, that link would be great. I've read some novels here meso so I'm sure I won't mind.

i think this is exactly the slight change my wo needs. I always start with my big compound moves first them do isolation after or sometimes incorporate them in with ss. Maybe changing it will help spark the growth I'm looking for.

This is how I approach shoulders now. My front delt work comes entirely from presses. For lateral delts, I'll hit them with some upright rows one day and lat raises another day (both towards the end of my workout). My rear delts get hit on the pulls (e.g. rows).

+1. This varies based on the individual, specific goals, what you're injecting, etc., but I've had better results with an Upper/Lower/Upper/Lower split than I ever did working a given body part once a week. If it's only the shoulders lagging, you can even stick with the current routine and add shoulders in for a second day somewhere.

The only reason I don't do training splits is a matter of volume. If I wasn't destroyed at work I can really get it done 20-25 sets per body part. For me I just can't see getting said part trained hard enough on a 10 set x 10 set split. When it comes to shoulders I'll try anything. I also was haven't some fucked up pain in my left shoulder yesterday on my negatives while pressing.

Whether you do 20 or 10+10 in a given week, the volume remains the same. However, with a 10+10 you'll be able to work with greater intensity for a greater number of sets. At some point, if you're just doing set after set after set, you're primarily just building endurance with little benefit (and possible detriment) in terms of size and strength gains. On cycle is another matter; I know when I'm on, I just feel like I can lift all day with little to no drop in intensity after a couple hours. All of that said, you need to find what works best for you. If it's 10+10, 20, or 50 sets a week, then so be it.

I am like a few other guys her that I fucking love shoulder day because I'm seeing insane growth. I get crazy pumps and sometimes want to go peel my shirt to loom. I don't do this but want to. : ) When I added the drol recently I saw those fuckers just pop. Add some I.m drol and see if this helps.good luck bro!
