I must be doing something right

I had a job interview yesterday so I had to get a suit the other day. Talk about some massive tailoring being done. Jesus christ! On the up side, I must be doing something right. The owner of the store read the measuremnts and goes, "There's no way his shoulders are that big. Are you sure that's right?"

I ended up with a massively tailored size 56 coat and half of the pants that came with it since they had to take so much in on them. I don't know how fat some people must be because he was telling me that it was hard to do because I'm so wide but I have no waist. Dude, I have a fucking HUGE waist. I guess the usual guys who wear suits that big have 56" waists to match.

They did have a 72" belt in stock. 72"! Who the fuck is that goddamn fat?

The drop (diff between chest and waist size) on normal suits is 8-10 inches. Athletic cut are 12 inches, I think.

A 72" belt???

What do they call the cut of a suit when the differential is bigger than 12"? A monster cut suit? :)

Thats great, your diet and all must be working good for you. Me on the other hand has been eatin like pig this winter and its starting to show.

oh yeah...the belt belongs to the chick NUTEBOY is trying to get everyone to bone. LOL

SOOO...How did the interview Go ya big bastard??? You think they liked your big coat well enough to give ya the job?

Well, it's kind of weird. I went there for this one position, but they guy I was to replace quit earlier than anticipated, so they had to fill it already. However, they said they have another spot for me. Same money, less responsibility. I'll know for sure tomorrow. I'm pretty sure I've got the job, but I don't want to count any chickens yet.

Thanks. I'll be as poor as I am now when all is said and done, but you have to start somewhere. My stockbroker started at 18.5k/yr and now he's a lot closer to 500k than he is to any other number.

My buddy's a stockbroker and started at a place in Manhattan. 12-16 hr days and cold calls for months. Studying for the Series 7 or whatever number it is and he finally did pass.

He worked there for a few months, saw his boss and others weren't going anywhere and he decided to work for a small investment company in Jersey, and is making nice cha-ching without the bullshit antics. You already appear to be mentally tuff for it, so best wishes. Peace.

Oh, no, I'm not going into the broker biz. Not now, anyway. I'll be working for a trucking company. Truck parts manufacturer, technically. I just used my broker as an example because I was talking to him about the job and he mentioned that when he got out of college he was making 18.5k. His fellow broker started at 13k. Niether of them are hurting now, though.

If the company has anything to do with Freightliner you will be in good shape. When Daimler Chrysler took control of Detroit Diesel from Penski they pretty much took control of the industry because they also own Freightliner. Kenworth, Peterbuilt and International have been running in circles trying to regroup since the buyout. Freightliner now has pretty much a monopoly by being direct to DDC for the #1 selling engine (DDC Ser 60) If anything thats a little info for your first day...for a little chat around the water bubbler with your fellow workers LOL Good luck.

I can relate to making crap when getting out of college. I was making a little over 23k, now I've made the gigantic increase to a whopping 36K, YEAH FOR ME
:(

But best of luck to you bro, if you put in as much hard work there (trucking co), as you do here (meso), I'll think you'll be fine. And yea, a 56 coat is a LOAD of material, you're a frickin' truck yourself bro. Peace.

Grizz i thought you were a fighter? money's not cutting it? not sure where you live, but did you try getting a doorman job at a nice club? It's decent money for a part time.

I am a fighter, but that's ify money. For one, the fights are not steady. None for 2 months, then two in a row and then none for 3 more months. Also, MMA doesn't pay shit. The average fight is about 450.

Also, fighting doesn't have health insurance, dental, etc. It's supplemental income. I'll get a "real job" and continue fighting while working. That way, if I'm lucky enough to score a 50-100k fight, I can use that money to start buying rental property and I'll still have my "real job" money to pay my bills.

nuff said, makes sense bro. Good luck with the job. All this talk about making no money when you graduate makes me really think twice about finishing college.

Grizz-

I feel you on the suit situation although I don't wear a 56 coat.....more like a 50 or 52 depending on the maker. The usual drop is only 6 inches, an athletic cut is 8 inches and an olympic cut is 10. I have a 36 inch waist so there is no way to buy off the rack. Luckily I just go to the Hugo Boss outlet and buy the coat and pants seperately. Unfortunately you can only get basic colors like navy, black and grey. Same deal with dress shirts. Try buying a 19 inch color shirt with a 34-35 sleeve that doesn't look like a dress around the waist. It cost me more to have the shirt tapered than it does for the shirt. Anyways, good luck with the job bro.
