I Want A Cigarette

DAMN...................it's only been 3 days.

I'm on Zyban.......I just got the patch also.......I'm not going to give in.

I'm on the verge of burning my hand to remind me how much I need to quit.

Just a small burn.....something that stings.......I know that sounds crazy.

What really sucks is that I have a lounge/club......being at work means being around smoke.

Why would a poli/econ guy get in the booze biz anyway?

dont drink until the strong urge is gone. stay strong. smoking sucks

I'm def. not going to be drinking, your right about that.

I just ate, so I'm going a bit nuts at the moment.

I need to find something to do when I get a craving.......other than self mutilation that is.

I'm going to run around the block a few times.

after a meal is the worst. I quit chewing and after meals i had terrible cravings. Sunflower seeds helped but normally i had to have candy lol. tough to quit. wish i wouldve never started

how long did you chew for thick?

8 or 9 years(started around 13 but was daily around 15) Can a day for several years of skoal key. quit about 100 times but always started again. quit for the last time around 7 years ago.

Get a coffee stirrer or swizzle stick or wad of gum and chew on that after you eat, it will reduce the cravings somewhat. As well, I found that brushing my teeth and washing my mouth out with listerine each and every time I ate or had a coffee or soda also did a good job of reducing the cravings.

Do you still have shirts that haven't been washed since you stopped smoking and which still smell of tobacco? Put them in a plastic bag, close it airtight and carry it with you. Then whenever you get the urge to smoke, open the bag and inhale deeply. The thought that you once smelled that bad to other people will turn you off the idea of starting again.

Jump on an exercise bike or do some other form of heavy cardio. Cardio is the one type of physical performance that improves dramatically within 24 hours of stopping smoking. Your improved performance will provide you more motivation.

Bro' hang in there and remember the rewards of not smoking. For one thing, it will increase your chances of getting laid by about 1000%! In 1996 I used Zyban and the patch to stop smokinh after being a two-pack a day chain-smoker for three decades. The first three months were tough, the next three months were difficult but tolerable, and after six months I realized I was finished for good. Today I never, never get a craving, even when I drink or smoke dope. Hang in there, if an addicitve personality like me can stop. so can you.

Just think of it like this-------If you picked your asshole and immediately afterward chewed your fingernails- you would have a 100times more aseptically pleaseing habit, both for you and others around you.
Nothing is more disgusting then either smelling someone smoking a cigarette doesnt matter if they 1 or 100 yards away stinks all the same. Then comes the stench of the smoker themselves.

I am telling you. You could drop your drawers and shit a pile of shit right in the middle of the living room carpet and offend me less then if you walked in there with a cigarette!

There is some motivation for ya bro. That is what people are thinking about you who don't smoke.
Although I would never want any laws etc..... banning smoking. Smoking and non-smoking areas are fine, as long as that is what they are. I dont think anyone should be forced to quit smoking or not to smoke but all the same I dont feel as though I should be forced to smell it participate.
Thanks for my rant.
Respects,
JMB

Get your teeth cleaned or bleached (depending on what shape your butterrums are in) clean teeth will help cause you wont want to stain them with tar from a smoke. Get a heavy bag and beat the hell out of it, I hate cardio but when i quit i got into it..good luck bro

Some good advice there......thank's.

I just ran around the block.......I def. don't want one at the moment.

My teeth are very white, I'm lucky there I guess.

The idea about putting a shirt in a bag.......I'm going to do that right now.

Thanks for the help guys.........I'm gonna do it this time.

I tried the shirt in the bag and became addicted to it, plus sniffing it at
the bar seemed to turn the chicks off! Seriously, after 40 years of a pack or more a day I happened to see myself smoking in a mirror. I
looked so stupid I quit on the spot and have been clean for 10 years.
But, if I'm in a bar, I miss my shirt.

What worked for me was getting my tongue pierced. I smoked prior to the piercing and I was told not to smoke for 1 week after, until my tongue healed. Well, after the week, I just didn't have an urge to smoke, so I stopped. I played with that barbell and did curls with my tongue. My girl is really happy now as I'm able to please her for long periods of time :D .

I didn't know you were a reformed chewer thick... I chewed for almost 15 years...Started off with Skoal LongCut for a couple of years.. switched to skoal fine cut..then I made it all the way to the big time... Can a copenhagon a day for the last five or six years... I quit Dec. 11th 2003 ... I say quit because I'll never go back now that I've made it a couple of months.. IT was very hard at first (still is) There isn't a day that goes by that I don't want a chew.. It's worse after eating and right after sex.... But it does get a little better every day.

Well I made it through the night.

I had a blues band in tonight, every monday actually, and had invited a few people that I couldn't flake out on.

What's interesting is I can smell the smoke from the bar on me.....more so than before.

I wanted a smoke but somehow it was not hard to blow it off.

That was the first time I was at work since I "quit".....made it through.

I smoked for over 17 years and one day said fuck it, now I am a recovering smoke a holic. its been 2.5 years since I smoked. just look at your avtar and those tits and jack ff to it, that should do the trick!! good luck hang in there

I started with whatever was around Hawkin, Kodiac, skoal. Did skoal finecut and got sick so I cant stand that shit. Than went to skoal key for several years with some cope. mixed in at times. I tried quitting by using Redman and Chattanooga pouches but would end up at a pouch a day lol. My big moment was the first time I got drunk after quitting this final time. I had not chewed for a week or so and was at the bar. I tried bumming a chew from everyone I saw and nobody had any. Haven't been close to cheating since that night. I still had daily cravings for a couple of years(all mental) and now still think about it at least weekly but know I can never have a chew again or I will be buying a can. Congrats on quitting. You will never have control over it so dont even try one dip ever again bro,.

i used to quit and start dipping, and then quit dipping and start smoking again. i confused myself so many times i found myself smoking a cigarette w/ a dip in. i quit everything for a year and a half and i've been back on the cancer stick for another year.... it's been 10 years on and off for me too, i gotta stop the insanity. yeah i remember how nasty it was to smell my clothes after going out when i wasn't smoking...you don't notice it as much when you are smoking..pretty nasty.
