Steroids dealer pleads guilty

[SIZE=-1]A Bridgewater man has now admitted that he ran an international steroids business from his home for three years, but just what it will cost him financially and in jail time has yet to be determined.[/SIZE]

[SIZE=-1]Kevin Wayne Tanner pleaded guilty to eight charges in Lunenburg provincial court Monday morning.[/SIZE]

[SIZE=-1]He admitted he smuggled controlled substances into the country, evaded paying duties on imported controlled substances, produced an anabolic steroid, trafficked in anabolic steroids, possessed anabolic steroids for the purpose of trafficking, and sold Viagra, Cialis and Nolva contrary to the Food and Drugs Act.[/SIZE]

[SIZE=-1]Mr. Tanner, 40, also pleaded guilty to two charges stemming from a proceeds of crime investigation which followed his January 2007 arrest in the steroids case.[/SIZE]

[SIZE=-1]The first charge was possession of proceeds of crime, including a portion of his Elm Street home, a 2005 Pontiac Pursuit, a $16,576.41 investment account, and various amounts of cash totalling $35,485 (Canadian) and $9,210 (U.S.).[/SIZE]

[SIZE=-1]The second charge was money laundering, or hiding the profits of his operation.[/SIZE]

[SIZE=-1]Crown and defence lawyers provided Judge Anne Crawford with an agreed statement of facts outlining how Mr. Tanner carried out his crimes. However, they plan to spend Tuesday and possibly Wednesday arguing further details in the case....[/SIZE]
