I tried to research some across the forums and saw a few posts that touched on this but I wanted a more direct opinion/poll from the guys/gals here.
I started on TRT and am slowly dabbling into more gear. I learned how to pin from my TRT clinic and I use IM injections with a 25 gauge 1” needle. My boy was in town visiting and needed to borrow some test so I set him up with my stuff to make sure he hit his dose while he was in town and looked at my needle apprehensively lol. He only uses a 29 gauge 1/2” needle.
I was under the impression that size was only for SubQ not IM. Then I started researching more about the effects of a larger needle and developing scar tissue over time from frequent pinning. Right now I only rotate between my left and right delts so I will add other sites into the rotation, but I guess my question is what gauge and length needle are you guys using to pin IM? Is there a universal standard that the community enjoys to limit the footprint when pinning to prevent eventual scar tissue down the road or am I just looking into this too much?
Thanks in advance.
