Most likely your cruddy practice of not using alcohol to sterilize or maybe your gear got contaminated from not swabbing the top with alcohol. Probably a combo who knows. If your worried about the gear send off a sealed vial to Jano for sterility I did with some and both came back positive for fungus/mold.

I agree with the majority; clean the stopper and the injection site. If it was me, when I was in the hospital I would have told them what you explained here and asked for their educated opinions--especially nurses because they do that kind of stuff all the time and are more likely to help without being preachy.

I got this ınfection also where my glute got abcess and got bigger and bigger. Tried antibiotics any everything but the solution was to do drainage..

It is not possible for bacteria on the surface of the skin to enter under the skin from an injection using a needle. You can swab the injection site if you want, but it does not accomplish anything.

Who TF listens to the Canadians on anything? Why wouldn’t you swab an injection site? Every single nurse that’s ever given me an injection of any kind swabs with an alcohol pad first.

That's the stupidest thing I've ever seen or read for someone on a harm reduction site to actually post something like this, the level of ignorance is beyond me people read something and then they think that is the gold standard, every hospital every nurse, every doctor wipes with an alcohol swab before an injection for a freaking reason,
