Same thing happened to me in that my wrists and my right elbow blew out (swelled up quite a bit).
I stayed on the TEST, took a week and a half off (had to), and then started the HST program, because it solves several problems and has some advantages.
First, you are supposed to take a week off, to decondition your body to training, so I don't feel like I wasted that time.
Second, you start out with two weeks of 15 reps, and REALLY light weights the first week, fairly light the second, working up to your 15 rep max on the last workout of the second week. That is perfect for furthering your recuperation, and especially is focused on bringing your tendon attachments up to speed.
Third, it's based on constant adaptation, so your body doesn't have to go all out constantly, so if you can do a cycle or two (6-8 weeks long each), you can really get your bod into a healthy state. The 5-6th weeks, for instance, you do only sets of 5 reps, so very heavy weights, but then you go back to 15 reps, so no constant strain on those ligs.
you sound like you are way too tensed up when lifting (same as me), so the fourth thing this does is let you focus on form and differential relaxation (making sure everything else in your body is relaxed when lifting, except the muscles in question). When you get to the heavy weights, your body is used to staying relaxed...
Inadvertantly because of this, I think I found out why squating gives me hemmoroids (grin). (okay, sorry)
Ha ha...
Anyway, good luck recovering man. Ironically test makes you testy, so your probably more aggravated at this than normal too.
