Instapot... Worth it?/ Recipes....

So it seems these instapots have quite the cult like following on social media. I have a slow cooker and a pressure cooker already. Can I do everything a instapot can with these two? They seem pretty expensive for a small appliance. Also feel free to post up any IP recipes you are using. Merry Christmas all you fellow mesonians, hope you all have a nice time with family and eat well tomorrow.

it is just a pressure cooker, i love mine, i cook all my meat, potatoes, rice, stews, chili, anything

a recipe would be a roast and all the spices in your cabinet then slow cook 8 hrs lol

I'm really starting to like the one I got. I bought the Crock Pot version 6L. From the reviews I've read it's easier to clean than the IP version, the food doesn't stick. And it is true! Simple to clean, which means a lot to me. Lol

Only cook chicken breast in it so far. Slow cook some and fast cook some. Last fast cook I used bone broth instead of chicken broth and it made them taste damn good.

Gonna try yogurt soon with Fairlife milk. Takes like 8-12hrs.

IMG_20181224_110019.jpg IMG_20181224_105921.jpg IMG_20181224_105903.jpg I snapped these off an IP cookbook at the bookstore yesterday. I would have bought the book, but these were the only 3 I was interested in. On a side note any of you guys get into the sous vide?

Instapots are beyond worth it just for bulk cooking meats alone as chicken breast finally stays moist vs. a stove. You can do anything with them though for bodybuilding nutrition i.e. roasts/stews, hardboil eggs, soups, yogurts, bone broth.

So does a pressure cooker do all the same stuff or is an IP different?!

IP is a pressure cooker but can also cook like a crock pot if you so choose. You can also use the bottom for browning and general cooking etc. if you so choose. It's really a jack of all trades and much more conveniently packaged. A traditional pressure cooker is typically just a pressure cooker only.

So my neighbor got a third IP gifted to her, so she gave it to me. Got a 6 quart for free. I'm pretty stoked going to try cooking a pot roast tonight. I'll post up in OGH's food thread later. Will do the recipe here if it turns out decent

Awesome, recipes are all good but man the ability to just have a decent chicken breast is beyond worth it. Just buy about 5-6 lbs. and revel in the ease of a quick 30 minutes to cook.

I just set for 30 minutes with frozen chicken breasts. I'm sure you could go 20-25 minutes or so with completely thawed. It will build up pressure before the timer starts. I just release as soon as its done.
