It seems the IFBB is slowly crumbling down…

I was excited when I first heard about mens classic physique, then when I saw that I had to be under 192 lbs at 5'9" I had a pretty good laugh about it. Lose 20 lbs of muscle? I think not!!! Its obvious that bodybuilding is not drawing the masses anymore. Take away all the bitches, bikini and physique and there would be no turnout anymore!!!!

I saw your physique in your one day out thread. Incredible work man. Keep building it to what you desire. Don't conform to the standards and don't lose an ounce of muscle; hard work and dedication. Maybe we could see a new look to the bodybuilders in this new league. Anything can happen at this point.

Wild guess #1 wasn't a guess, he said it was a long time coming in the video announcement.

The "guess" part of #1 was that Thompson orchestrated the Kai debacle. He suggested otherwise in the video. Thompson/Greene are a lot smarter than they want to let on. The Delucas and BB.com may be in on it too. Kai announced DynamiK's "partnership" with bodybuilding.com; he also announced a "meet & greet" event in Vegas on Saturday - off-site from the Olympia expo, of course.

Thompson has been friends with the Delucas for years. With the marketing resources and reach of bodybuilding.com, Nspire has guaranteed that it will get exposure. Imagine bb.com live streaming all of NPC Global's big events to its million daily unique visitors.

Bodybuilding.com customers aren't NPC/IFBB loyalists. It's customer base will be influenced by BB.com and not NPC/IFBB PR. The NPC/IFBB's supporters -- flexonline.com, rxmuscle.com -- will stay loyal but their reach pales in comparison to that of bodybuilding.com. Muscular Development could go either way.

I hope the outcome of this is that the NPC/IFBB stranglehold on athletes, press, sponsors is broken. This will give physique competitors the freedom to compete in multiple organizations; (a truly free) press the freedom to cover and promote multiple organizations; and sponsors freedom to support any organization they want without the NPC/IFBB ability to blackball them.

"Nspire" seriously?
Why did he want to keep the NPC acronym so badly? Its likely people will confuse the two.
I don't understand why he is using NPC in "NPC Global". Their legal counsel must think they can get away with it.

Of course, it will cause confusion. Some people on forums already think it is associated with National Physique Committee. It seems like there would be trademark issues.

World Wrestling Federation (WWF) was forced to stop using the acronym WWF and change its name after World Wildlife Fund (WWF) prevailed in court in 2002. But the World Wildlife Fund apparently registered the acronym back in the 1960s. Maybe there's no such registration for NPC.

I had been confusing NPC and NPC Global until watching his NSPIRE blabla on youtube, really unoriginal name, Nspire is also fucking stupid and looks like it has been made up by a child... Otherwise I have nothing against his company but he could have put a bit more effort or even plain thought in coming up with an actual name with a meaning lol...

I think somethingg along the lines of "Athletes Federation" would have been nice. Just to show it's focused on the athletes.
the Athletes League of BodyBuilding ALBB.
BodyBuilding Athletes Alignment BBAA.
International Partnership of BB Athletes IPBBA.

Did you guys know that the Mr. Olympia contest was named after a beer? Larry Scott was having dinner one night at Joe Weiders house and they were having dinner and a beer and Weider was telling Larry about his idea for the biggest contest in the world, and he wanted Larry to enter. The beer they were drinking was "Olympia" beer during the convo

When I first heard of NPC Global I thought the National Physique Committee was going international lol. :D
