No, i dont mean fapping, i mean jerking the bar on a deadlift. Something ive wondered about but is fresh in my mind from watching the video below.
Ive noticed most of the top power lifters literally jerk upwards at the beginnig of the lift, very quickly. When i pull i take the slack out of the bar as best i can woth the stiff bars i use, and pull slowly and as smoothly as i can.
Is that something that i should work on? I was taught to take deadlifts slow and smooth butbit seems like all these guys deadlifting 6 7 8 hundred pounds always jerk off. I imagine it just helps give a little momentum off the floor, is there a technique to it to avoid hurting your back?
If so, i would really like to learn how to jerk off erectly- er i mean correctly.
