At first I always figured "jump squats" were retarded but
Im strating to think maybe they might be an effective
exercise to add to my list of secret wepons on my war against
my weak ass squat.Has anyone on this board used them or have
any opinions for or against them?

Ive use them for BB training, and all I have to say is, I dont have to wait until im 2 feet near the rim to dunk now. So yes they work for me.

howd they work as far as inc. your regular squats??

Jump squat

They do work if u do them consistant. Rotate them w/
reg. squats. Do reg. squats full range...
Let me know how effective they are for u.

How deep do you guys go on "jump squats". I never did them regularly but when I did, I'd use a really light weight (135-155lbs), hit an inch or so below parallel and then crank it. I'd go as hard and fast as I could out of the hole and try to jump as high in the air as possible. Upon landing, I'd take my time, get set and hit it again. My eccentric movements were faster then normal but controlled. I stuck with triples and took relatively short set breaks (60-90 sec). Was this even correct? Looking back on it it seems amazing that I added an exercise to my training regimen without doing any prior research. Oh well, just curious.
