Kidney Advice for elevated creatinine low EGFR

Hey guys wanted to get some advice from you all who have been doing this for awhile.

My latest bloods came back and I was concerned about my creatinine and efgr.

Creatinine = 1.49
EGFR = 59

Cycle has been 5 weeks:

400 test
600 mast
600 primo
20mg GW 51056
10mg Cialis on training days/and BP
5mg amlodipine for BP

Bloods were drawn fasted, the day before at 1pm I did a heavy boxing session for 2 hours. I thought I was well hydrated. I do take 5mg of creatine a day and used pre workout. Diet is a mix of ground chicken and ground beef, usually rice or those ore Ida frozen potatoes.

I’ve added Astragalus Root, Tudca, Milk Thistle, NAC, real mushroom cordyceps, in the last week.

I’m also set to get a cystatin-c test.

Do I wait to get the results back next week or do these numbers say stop the cycle to you?

Happy to provide any other info needed. Thanks for any advice!

How much water did you drink before this fasted blood test?

Recently I got a 51 eGFR for my fasted test, went back 5 days later for a test mid day and got 67.

In Canada we can't get a Cystatin-C and I was set to head state side until the 67 eGFR. I'll still get it done but now I'm not in as much of a hurry.

Add fish oil, like 6,000mg a day. My wife has stage 4 CKD currently on the transplant list and her doc put her on that also. I would really watch the numbers if they don’t come up stop the cycle. Kidney issues are no joke, try to keep kidney functions above 60.

Ok thank you! Super helpful to know the dosage. I’m going to get my bloods in this week algo is pretty quick and if I don’t see any improvement I’m shutting it down.

Agree with previous posts.

Regarding Cystatin C... I did the same and found that adding an ACR (Albuminurea Creatinine Ratio) urine test also provides another marker for Kidney damage, and can be referenced with Cys C number, imo, for a more accurate result.

From what I researched I found this calculator that uses these markers together.

Awesome….is this something you order from the lab? Thank you!

Above average muscle mass
Creatine use
lifting heavy
high protein diet

All will elevate egfr

Went to two nephrologist and the second on listen to me when brought all this up.
I’m getting that feedback a lot too. While we know the importance of bloodwork and testing, this isn’t abnormal. I saw a video by the anabolic doc on this as well. I know there are mixed opinions on him but it made sense. Thanks man appreciate this!

All may elevate creatinine. All may lower eGFR based on creatinine.
Agree, creatinine "skews" the number. I beleive #1 high protein diet (animal protein) and #2 AAS (rocket fuel) increases creatinine dramatacilly.

One thing I don't think was touched on , but I'm sure all know, was Blood Pressure. The stress can decrease kidney function in the long term and its relatively addressable.

Also, I came off AAS for upcoming surgery and tested eGFR 4 weeks later... came away with lower creatinine #'s and higher eGFR. However, with or without gear, my high protein diet has always increased my creatinine.

Very good point. I am on amlodipine prescribed by the doc. On cycle my BP definitely went up, but my first cycle which was just test, and my BP historically has been perfect. My LDL is still high so I’m going next week to address that. It was 180 prior to TRT which I was on for a year before exploring any other AAS, my bloods came back at 130 while on cycle. So need to get that in check.

130 LDL is not too bad. IMO: LDL gets exasperated on AAS.... exasperates saturated fats in the diet, but can be countered with good fats (e.g. olive oil). I always tried to keep alot of sat. fats out when I started monitoring my diet. Previously, my LDL, at its lowest, was 73. On AAS and allowing eating some red meat with cheat days... 101.
