Labmax/Beeker comparison

Everyone want to make a buck but why is it that people feel they must make a killing.
What I want is someone to sell bulk testing media, like a 10ml vial.
Get 40 or so tests from a vial they could charge
$100 a vial and they would still make a bunch of money.

Exactly . Labmax is raping us .These chemicals cant be that expensive , $5 per test is what it should be ....

I'm sure that LM has the patent on this and that Beeker may have just discovered the recipe for vial B. Sounds sketchy.

This is a valid concern. So far as I can tell, there is no patent on the tests offered by Labmax, which itself a reseller, not a manufacturer. The product is essentially a simple and well known chemical reaction. It wouldn't be unlike trying to patent the combination of vinegar and baking soda to make a "volcano." This reagent test and many like it have been around for many decades. If there was an opportunity for a patent, it was back in the 50's.

I'd be more worried about security honestly.

Also fair. We use SSL for payment with 3rd party gateways. Our privacy policy is robust, and customer information is stored securely. Anyone that wishes for their information to be deleted after ordering will have their request honored. We understand the growing desire for personal privacy.

That said, we can not and will not assist anyone in doing anything illegal. Just sayin'.

The prices on his site seem high to me. 20 A-B kits from LM is $190 with shipping, 20 equivalent B ONLY vials lists for $140 with shipping. I know I go through more B-vials than A, but not 70% more. The LM option is a better value IMO. Maybe a little competition will put some pressure on the LM prices as well.

You know, you're both right. Prices have been adjusted down in accordance with your input. Thanks.

@BIGMESC The problem with that bulk approach is one of chemistry. The regents involved are extremely corrosive. The advantage of the small quantity vials is that they're neutralized after use and safe to dispose of. They're also much less likely to cause a significant spill if broken or toppled. If you were to spill a whole 10mL vial, you'd burn a sizable hole in either your carpet or your toes, depending on how lucky you are that day. Our individual use vials and inject-through caps help prevent such scenarios.

It's also a matter of convenience to have something to test in. The glassware used needs to be very clean, relatively thin yet sturdy, and very clear. Thus, single-use borosilicate chomatography vials.

I haven't ruled it out, but customers with holes where their toes used to be don't make for great word of mouth advertising.

I just see it as a cheap knock off, nothing new. If there was a new test for potency I am in. This guy is simply trying to make money.

I have seen this many times people trying to use some reagent to test steroids. What we need is a real testing lab with HPLC or GCMS.

this is just cheap knock off, one guy made a bench in his garage and trying to make some money.

I do not think that he has any equipment like flenser pointed he has some lousy vial with a seal which leaked.

I have seen here many guys trying to make test reagent before.

for me it is not worth the hassle unless he has better product, this like buying cheap counterfeit from China.

we simple have to wait for a lab to offer affordable HPLC testing.
