The New York Times reports on the Lance Armstrong court filing that suggests Jeff Novitzky may be responsible for government leaks. However, the Times doesn't report this specific allegation instead only stating that Novitzky was the lead investigator.

In a court filing, John W. Keker, Armstrong’s lead lawyer, alleged that the details of the grand jury investigation — including the identities of past and future witnesses, the strategy and direction of the investigation, and the potential charges being considered by the government — were illegally leaked to the news media dozens of times.

“Someone in this district with regular access to grand jury information is routinely flouting the law requiring grand jury secrecy,” Armstrong’s lawyers said in court papers filed Wednesday. “These leaks have rendered what should have been a closed investigation into a field day for reporters with access to the leaks, and an easy forum for whoever seeks to damage Armstrong’s reputation.”

The filing, which was first reported Monday by Politico, refers to reports in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Sports Illustrated and other publications, as well as on “60 Minutes.”
