It's been years since I puked on a leg day but if I recall correctly, it was always near the end of my leg workout and not necessarily after heavy squats. I tend to work up to a couple sets of heavy squats before doing some 8-10 rep front squats followed by 3-4 sets of walking lunges at 10 reps with 185 or 225. SoMetimes I get queasy on the lunges and I will Move straight to a series of trisets of leg ext, leg curls and calfwork to wrap things up. However, on days I am still feeling good after lunges, I pick either widowmaker set of leg press (start around 1400lbs rep it 5 or 6 times, drop a couple plates, rep out, drop, etc for a total of 35 reps) or I push my truck back and forth in the parking lot for a while. It seems like my system recovers enough every third or fourth leg session to add in one of the brutal finishers Instead of leg machine trisets. Puking has always come on one of those finishers. Also, the old breathing squats program made me puke once or twice.
