leg press or squat? important question

;) .. Because of a higher stimulation of the central nervous system .. yes .. I have always been saying this BUT this goes more toward strength increases .. OK With size comes strength but that depends on training .. Nerve discharge is one thing but legpress can be easier to hit more fibers .. cant explain now have to go help wife but legpress is easier to pinpoint tension on the working muscles .. quads, hams because no need to have to worry about balance and bad form caused by balance  .. sorry have to go you get the point .. Training with squats is good for core strength and should be done .. thanks
With squats you can pinpoint the muscles targeted also. I squat twice a week, when I hit quads I use a narrow or shoulder width stance and hit the quads. When I squat the second time in the week I use a wider powerlifting stance and hit glute and hamstrings. I'll do the same for legpresses also, but saying that squats can't pinpoint the muscles used in not true.

rofl, to be honest... buying some chucks was the best thing I've added to my training, though it wasnt necesarry. I was doing squats/deads and such bare foot, but that doesnt abide to well at your local "fitnes center." Factor in the fact that you look rediculous wearing them; It was a no brainer for me. :p

I'll take that as an endorsment for the Chucks.I'm pretty sure I'll get bithched at if I try anything bare footed at the Y. I just did legs, back and bi's today and it seemed like the harder I tried to push through my heels the more I shifted forward! Maybe it was just me thinking about it too much but it really pissed me off.I actually did some fairly heavy leg presses after squatting and once I got adjusted they didnt bother my back like they usually do.

Patently false. Your sport very much shapes your body. While it may be true that the elite skaters are elite because of genetics for big legs, an average genetic possessing fellow will still develop bigger legs by skating.

What you just said, manwhore, amounts to bodybuilders have big muscles because they have big muscles. While it's true that most people won't look like Ronnie, they'll still develop bigger muscles through resistance training.
Average genetic person will develop bigger legs yes but not legs like we are talking about .. AND i even said Elite skaters .. Are you elite? Ronnie is so we are talking about the Ronnies of Speed Skating

I ruined a disc in my back doing deadlifts, that took six months to get over,my sympathys RamsteinII.
I've burst a capillary in my brain doing heavy leg presses, causing a immediate cessation or my workout, and a migrain for a week verytime I elivated my heart rate{no sex or anything!}.I'd say that it was probably{definitely}due to the way I did the exercise, not the exercise in itself.
I prefer squats, though,I just like the feel of the heavy weight on my shoulders and the whole body being involved.I would subscribe to MANWHOREs theory of stimulating the whole nervous system.I have noticed that I feel and expansion or the rib cage{IE stretching pain} after breaking personal records on the squat.
This information is my opinion and from my experiance, and should not be considered advice.
