Let's grow October 24th - January 30th

In for moral support and for the learning.

What do you feel like on test that high? Borderline superhero? I'm just coming off 700 test, 700 tren and I felt fantastic, I can't imagine a dose like that.

I cant either
Highest ive gone is 1500 on the testE
I didnt feel it did me any great favors in the SIZE dept. Or anymore than id say a gram would but it definitely definitely increased my strength more than a gram would. Of course i didnt have GH in the mix. So there is alot of interesting stuff going on here...

I wish WP was in to strength too. I would be interested in those results :(

I wish we could bring him over to the dark side, too.

Interesting on the strength increases though. I'm a ways off from running over a gram myself. I'm thinking 800 or so next cycle, i don't want to make big jumps.

@Perrin Aybara @gr8whitetrukker I would like to, as well. However, it's very tough to justify it when my goals are purely aesthetic based.... I don't really have time in between this run and my cut, which will start in May.... 2 months I don't believe is reasonable for a powerlifting program. Maybe after the cut? What kind of program are you suggesting?

Alrighty boys and girls, in for the first update of the season!

Friday was back day, I tried a new exercise that I fucking loved! The pump in your lower lats on this is bananas- . I used 10iu humalog in the morning with my 4.5iu of serostim, and 10 iu humalog pre workout. After the gym, I went to our state fair with a fine female, unfortunately we indulged in all the fried goodies (Pineapple, pop tart, reese's cup, red velvet cake and cookie dough if you're wondering).

Saturday was legs. Nothing crazy, a lot of glute oriented movements, feels a bit odd to focus so heavily on glutes. Oh well, still felt pretty good. No insulin today, didn't feel I needed that "boost" for a heavy glute day. I pinned my ass before lifting, guys, I have the biggest fucking bruise ever.... I'm not sure what I did, but I think I accidentally inserted the needle at an angle somewhat parallel with my butt... Either way, kind of hurts.

Sunday was my off day. Spent some time with the new pup, same unlucky female who spent time with me at the fair (why do attractive women find us assholes so incredibly charming? o_O ). I ate A LOT, I felt very full when I woke up this morning, and my who body looked pumped out of the shower, interesting, I'm not entirely sure why.

Monday will be a bit tough to get one in with Halloween and all, I still need to get candy for the little bastards. Also, I was stupid and promised this, again unlucky, female I'd make her some on Wunderpus' world famous sous vide steak, fuck. Well, nonetheless, the gym will happen and it will be heavily a hamstring day... John Meadows, why so many fucking leg days?!?!:eek::eek::eek:

Anyway, I hope you guys have a nice holiday with your family, if they still can even tolerate you. If not, enjoy spending time alone. Either way, have a nice one guys, and thanks for checking in!

I'd have to give it some thought, there's a few that have enough bodybuilding movements thrown in that should keep you satisfied and keep the show muscles maintained for the duration of the experiment.

I could be wrong, but it seems like it could actually fit into your long-term goals. Seems like adding a lot of general strength would allow more weight to be used on bodybuilding movements, which would allow more growth? I've also heard it said that weight doesn't matter for bodybuilding purposes as much as mind to muscle connection contraction and all that. I don't know, either way it'd a cool experiment.

You are right, and that is why I am interested. With higher volume programs, such as the one I am doing, I have found the overall strength increases are not HUGE. So, I would definitely be interested.

You were feeling hypo from the slin I'm assuming, right? ;)
Ha, if only.... I felt like complete dog shit after eating all that crap and going on all the horrific rides she insisted we go on... A little piece of info on old Wunderpus, he does NOT do well with heights.... Plus, I wouldn't trust a carny to fix my sink, much less build a ride that holds my life in it's hands....

Here's a bit of inspiration, so eloquently put by Wunderpus the other day...

Strength absolutely has its place in BB program. Its not lesser or better. It is equal
And having strength and size trumps everything
Absolutely... None of the high level athletes are just using 135 for squat or bench for reps... Maybe on an occasional drop set, or a stupid high-rep pump finisher, but never as the base. I see most of them use AT LEAST 315 on the bench...

One thing i always noticed is the few who can get truly jacked using solely pump techniques and high volume work are the genetic gifted ones. Im not talking about just pumped in the gym but ACTUAL GROWTH. The rest of us need to be strong. Strong is the tried and true method. Always has. Always will. Building those fast twitch fibers is the most rewarding longest lasting effect you can have on your physique. And strength is always the LAST to go. That swollen pump look is always the first. Even after cessation of exercise for any period of time. Weeks or months. Strength builds solid ass muscle

What are your maxes like, WP, if you don't mind me asking? Like 5RM or whatever number of reps you usually do. Like for high bar, low bar or front squat, flat or incline bench, deadlift if you do them, overhead press, weighted pull/chin up, etc.

Truk, sometimes I just want to give you a big fat and wet kiss when I read your posts. You're absolutely right, and surely my strength has increased over the years while I've grown. Now, have I maximized strength gains? No. It's probably a side-effect of the growth and pushing myself, whatever that particular weight might be. Meadow's programs, I think, are largely designed for people who already have a solid strength base. It would be a bit ridiculous to do his programs if you did not... When I went into the programs I could bench 315 for reps, and, I'm more or less still there, a year and a half later... However, my body looks VERY different... Sooooo.... I don't know?

The term max is hard for me to accurately determine as I never train like that, but here are my guesses, and I figure they're pretty close:

Flat Bench- I did 365 x 2 (with a little help for a 3rd rep) before I hurt my pec a few weeks ago (granted, I was on tren base and halo...). But, I normally get 315 by about 4-6 easily, not quite "failure".

Incline Bench- I never go super heavy, but I can easily knock out 275 x 8. I'm very should dominant, if you've ever seen any of my pictures that would be quite clear... So, that probably helps.

I never do low bar squats...

High bar- 405x5 would be comfortable and doable.

Deadlifts- 405 x 5 easily, probably could go heavier but I prefer to go heavier on rack pulls do to my back...

Overhead press- Rarely do this, but I used to hit 135 for a shit load of reps, maybe 15. Never went too heavy.

Never do weight chins or pull ups... But, bodyweight wide grip pullups I can do 19 right now, being a bit lighter. Chin ups, I kind of suck at, maybe 12.

Hope this helps...
