Let’s talk about sleep on cycle

It’s no secret any sort of blast (and honestly even TRT) makes sleep harder. What’s even more crazy though is that I personally feel a massive difference from being fully rested with 7.5-8 hours vs 6 hours. Oftentimes I have early awakenings at the 5-6 hour mark and feel pretty miserable. That said, on weekends and on days I go to bed early, I have ample time to power through the misery and fall back asleep to get the full 7.5 hours. But some days I don’t have the time for that, and have to just suck it up with less sleep.

Is the only solution to just go to bed earlier? I stopped taking sleep meds because although they make me sleep more, they also make me more groggy and make me require even more sleep like 8.5 hours, which is a lot of time that adds up

5mg melatonin 2 hours before you want to be asleep. This will eliminate the grogginess. A lot of people take melatonin right before sleep and that's the wrong way to use it. It sets the stage for sleep, it doesn't induce it.

It's also excellent for increasing your natural GH pulses while asleep.

The only thing worse for your sleep than PEDs is having kids. So plan accordingly.

I'd experiment with the natural products that have been shown (not in everyone) to help with sleep such as Mag Glycinate, Glycine, Theanine, GABA, etc. I personally have done well with various dosages of those compounds. I don't care for melatonin as the regular prep does nothing and the delayed release leaves me groggy. Some guys get great sleep from HGH but some get nothing (and others say it worsens their sleep).

The behavioral interventions are most efficacious, meaning no caffeine within 8 hours of bedtime, no screens / blue light for at least an hour before bed. I've never been a fan of restricting carbs before bed and in this case, i've always found that it makes sleep worse. Even if you're dieting, I'd suggest saving some calories / carbs for the end for the end of the day and don't be afraid to have a high carb meal as your last before bed, but I would make sure to not eat within 90 min - 2 hours prior to going to bed. I just finished a tren cycle and slept fine. Nothing messes with my sleep onset more than restricting carbs / calories. I sleep like a baby on high carb days. Last meal of the day is a decent sized tray of sushi then it's hard to even stay awake.

And I've said this a million times before, any PED user regardless of body habitus / weight / neck size should be tested for OSA and if you have it, get a CPAP as fast as you can. It will save your life (literally and figuratively). If you have undiagnosed OSA the "sleep" you're getting isn't really sleep at all.

And it goes without saying I hope, but NO ALCOHOL at all.

Oh boy. Do I have experience.

Trazodone, CBN/CBD or just straight weed has helped me. But to answer your question- yeah, going to sleep earlier is honestly the only solution

I sleep at 7 daily and try to wake around 2-4 AM. I struggle with wakeups and not being able to stay asleep but sleeping earlier has been my only solution to try and keep my ass in bed longer

It’s not an easy lifestyle change to make, but once you get accustomed to it, it’s not all too bad

Actually try CBN instead of your sleeping meds. I’d opt for a tincture instead of a gummy. It’s improved my sleep quality at doses above 10mgs, not overly sedating to the point of grogginess and may actually be better suited for your situation but it’s also my understanding that everyone responds to it differently so you might not feel much

I’m also told Mirtazapine is good for sleep quality and staying asleep, however I’ve yet to try to confirm and YMMV.

Second this. Dave Lee has made a point about using micronized melatonin. I’ve tried both and the micronized is worth thr extra cost/effort (much harder to get in Mexico than it was the U.S.). Also I have the Red lens night blue blocking glasses I wear starting around 8pm. I’m tired by 11pm if I wear them can stay up until 2am and not be tired if I’m using screens/lights and forget them.

Oh! The other thing that has helped is getting 20 min outside as early as possible (at/after sunrise) and 20 min or so around sun set (really as much time outside as possible but for sure those times.) Helps set the circadian rhythm. Turning off as much light at night as well. I know it sounds simple but it’s made a world of difference for me.
