I bought a brand new 2016 Sierra the black 22" rims suckerd me in. It is a really nice looking truck. It's not loaded. Cloth seats. No Bose. No adjustable pedals. No memory seats. No split rear window ( actually a plus for me)
It also has the 5.3.
I hate that truck. The suspension doesnt have any rebound damping so if you hit rollers on the highway it will dead end all 4 shocks. The temperature control is finicky. You drip one degree, still hot. Drop another, still hot, drop another, BAM freezing cold. The motor has good driving around power, but if you hook anything on to it its pretty well useless. I towed an open 2 place sled trailer into a strong wind and it said it was burning 37l/100km. Its brutal. The transmission programming is junk. It shifts too early and holds the gear too long before a down shift. Then by the time it does finally shift down, it drops 2 gears because your foot is so far into it. The V8-V4 engine mode is a joke. If you have cruise set and you climb a very slight grade, or gust of wind it will stay in V4 until it drops about 2 or 3 km/h then it goes into V8 and has to accelerate those 2 or 3kph again and the milage spikes for 5 seconds. I'm convinced there is absolutely no fuel savings there. There's lots more little things that I dont like about it, but you get the idea. I'll be looking at the other brands for my next truck.
It does seem well built though. I've got 67 000 km and no problems yet. Body is still tight and it runs smooth.
