Last two consecutive times I got labwork done, I noticed some of these values were off and wanted to know how to troubleshoot and if theres a need for concern
Blast (mid Nov 2024) vs Cruise (late Jan 2025)
ALP: 35 -> 30 U/L
BUN: 28 -> 29 Ng/Dl (Creatinine always in range)
Sodium: 131 -> 134 mmol/L
Main concern is ALP; Never have I seen this low until the last two tests. Planning to get thyroid tested, as well as zinc, magnesium, and vitamin B12. Curious if anyone had experience w this, apparently a lot of doctors dont worry about low ALP. I used to also have low ferritin but it tested middle of the range on the first low ALP reading after supplementing w/ Vitron C, stopped taking it recently adding red meat to diet, w/ some occassional use time to time.
Ive currently been crash dieting hard on little as 20 grams of fat a day to avoid getting fat from hormones dropping on cruise, so maybe this is the result of malnutrition; cronometer says im getting all the vitamins I need so not sure where I’d start there (1gram of epa+dha and a 2 grams of Omega 6s for EFAs), I did stop taking my zinc supplement but think I took it the first low ALP reading.
Regarding BUN and sodium, Ive been consuming about 5 grams of sodium a day; I think my levels are low because I was overconsuming water before my tests flushing the sodium out. I eat up to 250 grams of protein a day, I speculate my BUN is high since my diet is loaded in protein; waiting on my cystatin C test to confirm its not a kidney issue and more diet or hydration related, creatinine always good.
Thank you for the help, willing to share more info if needed.
