Most magazines blow but thinking of getting a subscription is there any you guys lime for training info? I usually ignore all the ads wondering if any are worth it ? Muscle and fitness is way too much for a magazine so I refuse to spend $40 on there crap anyways any others you guys like ?

Most magazines are all about advertising these days, musclemedia2000 was by far the best however no long in being produced, you may be able to buy some back issues at ebay or amazon.

Magazines suck. It really is all about the advertising. They just gotta pump out articles with catchy titles to appeal to the largest audience possible because it makes the cost of their ad space go up. Perhaps there are a couple out there that are more legit, but I doubt it. Why put out a magazine when you can do it all online?

Mugz good point then only thing is a lot of online stuff is decent but a lot of it contradicts as well just looking for some informative stuff but I think you guys are right most of it is garbage ....

its true all the info one could want in a lifetime is via net but some like glossy pics and peoples styles of putting body building into a format that fits the user... for me I allways grabbed an ironman mag Iron Man Magazine

Awwwww mugz! muscle media 2000 was the shit back in the day! Until Bill sold his soul! I remember it well, my training partner and I bought tickets to there first seminar in L.V. when we got there we looked at each other and went so this is where ROME dies! It was a big sales pitch for body for life and EAS supplements an you knew it was over. :( The only redeeming thing was meeting Dan Duchaine and Mike Mentzer and getting to pick their brain a little. When I got back into training I was happy to see TC Luama was on T-nation but even that has a little sales pitch going on. I was reading a training article and the author was saying there was no way he could do this with out xyz supplements so I added all of them up and it was like 300-400 dollars worth of shit for two-ish months supply! LOL

Muscle media 2000.... fun times I remember. You know it was a lot of pitch but good rag none the less..a lot of the hype inspired me back when I was a younger bb.

MM2K was so good back in the day. They were the 1st to write about creatine & Dan Duchaine,TC & Charles Polquin articles were informative but they went downhill after Body for life and sponsor in Danny Hester on every page. I don't bother with most mags today since every issue is repetitive & mostly ads.

Yes most mags are repetitive now days and once you have seen one you seen them all.Iron man was a favorite but steve Holman and johnathan Lawson went overboard with their x-rep religion and never turned back.

MuscleMedia 2000 and Muscular Development were staples on my coffee table and in my bathroom. Of course that was years ago. I don't think any good magazines are left, or they are shells of their old selfs.

I miss those mags. Maybe it's just me, but I enjoyed reading the rags and anabolic review books more then I do reading on-line.

Well yeah there is something special about sitting on the shitter back in the day reading the new rags. And don't say you never did it....

Ha! I NEVER READ ON THE SHITTER!!!!!!! I never got that. Why in the hell would anyone read while shitting? Do they enjoy hot boxing the smell? Do you get a buzz? Get in get out as been my goal. :) But I must agree with dieyoung there is something about reading a mag or a book over the net. I am a research nut and its so much easier to review. My mags and books where freaking highlighted notes written, lol such a nerd I even had a binder I made to remember where things I read could be found!

Must have been hereditary because my father read newspapers there and my gramps read the farmers almanac on the shitcan...actually you flush and don't sit and mingle with the fumes..its oldschool bro and a place where the kids and family don't mess with you.

You know some of you have a lot of nerve sometimes with the remarks. In the real world do you come off this way?

AS far as I'm concerned, the only thing that has changed in the magazines is a look most guys would want, to a GH/insulin physique that you cant tell one guy apart from another. Have you seen some of their faces for Christ Sakes!! Some of these guys are in their 20's and have faces like a wrinkled 80 yr old man. It's no longer health and fitness, its drug ridden bodies (abuse to say the least) Back in the day you knew the guys probably used something, but you also knew that guy trained his ass off and SUFFERED to try to win that show. Thats what those guys did, they suffered through it. Guys like Shawn Ray, Kevin Levrone, Mike Matarazzo, those guys brought lines and conditioning you dont see anymore. The magazines are a complete waste of your time and money, you can learn so much more from a fitness forum where you can talk to real guys, not some bullshit ghost writer telling people what they think they need to hear.

I still think levrone should had got atleast 1 sandow. And yes the new magazines are a waste.Paul dillet and chris cormier really stood out for me back in the 90,s as well.I remember pauls onstage spasm but he was on point condition wise for a 6'1 bodybuilder, hated seeing him pull away from the game.
