Maintenance Post Blast

How long do you guys hang around in maintenance after a cycle? I hear ranges from 4-8 weeks is appropriate before transitioning to a cut. The obvious reason being that we want our bodies to adapt and learn to hang on to the new muscle before we deprive ourselves of calories.

So what have you found most effective time and training-wise? Do you also reduce volume? How much?

Luki has an approach I’m trying.

14 weeks "offseason"
12 weeks prep
14 weeks Rebound/offseason
12 weeks prep

This covers the whole year. I’m 18 weeks in, but was coming off a cruise where I dieted down for the summer. When people were asking about a hold phase he clarified further:

in fact in this scenario the "robound/offseason" stage is both at the same time - let me explain:right after contest/cutting we do rebound/offseason which is supposed to last 14 weeks before we start another contest prep and in fact in the first 4-6 weeks we reach the target weight (it is mainly sarcoplasmic hypertrophy) which we maintain for the remaining 8-10 weeks and let it "marinate" (in my understanding we transform it into real myofibrillar hypertrophy) so we don't have to use the "maintenance" phase because we have already done that

The best and fastest progress is made by those who compete often offseason-conterst prep-rebound-contest-prep-rebound...repeat

He went on to talk a bit about the cruise vs blast dosing just generally:

Of course this is an example so don't rely on the doses but this is more or less how I approach it:

Let's say someone in contest prep used 2500mg total, e.g.
700mg test
350mg tren
700mg mast
700mg vinstrol
10iu gh

right after the competition I go low with steroids and stay on the least toxic combination, e.g.
125mg test+125mg EQ or 100mg primo e2d
10iu gh +we add insulin around training (before or before and after) while simultaneously increasing kcal from carbohydrates, mainly around training, so we also add insulin there to maximize glycogen compensation

then we do blood work and see how everything looks in 90% of cases everything is ok except for small deviations which we fix over the next 4 weeks with appropriate supplements/medicines. After 4 weeks we do blood work again and if everything is ok we can increase the gear let's say to 250mg test+250mg Eq or 200mg primo. And basically we stay on these doses until the next preparations if everything is going ok. If we clearly see that progress has hit a wall we can increase the current gear a little or add a small dose of 3 compound usually it is nandrolone or Ment in small doses
