I got really into season 1 but after doing some online research I'm not totally convinced.
I think the most likely truth is that he is guilty AND the police are corrupt. People seem to have some kind of mental block that won't allow them to see that just because the police fuck someone over doesn't mean they're innocent.
I'm the last guy to stick up for the law (on GPS tether right now), I definitely think his court case should be thrown out just on the strength of the police fucking him over. The netflix documentary is definitely biased.
If you're a true crime junky check out "Evil Genius" on netflix. It's about that pizza delivery driver that got a bomb strapped to his neck and forced to rob a bank (they made a comedy movie about it a few years back). It goes DEEP which I love plus it's just a bizarre fucking case.

The evil genius was great and so was “the staircase”
Guilty or not we will never know but there’s enough reasonable doubt to not convict either one of them. The bad thing about Brendon is there absolutely not one piece of evidence tying him to anything. Too much weird shit going on up there.

Oh yeah The Staircase was great. I loved how he would put on a show for the camera, smoking a pipe and listening to classical music.
