Making the switch to powerlifting, Gobuckeyes 2017 log

Cool, yea my wife wants to do one thru the week but I only have time on the weekend to do one. I'm still not sure about the hot class tho, why do I wanna sit there and sweat my ass off doing yoga? Is there more therapeutic use for the hot class? I'm going to stick with doing them for a couple months and see if it helps.

well warm muscles = incresed blood flow = better recovery
 
Active recovery day, I just walked on the tread mill today, slower than normal to lol. Then rolled on the foam roller and did some yoga poses to stretch. I went a little over board on eating yesterday and actually felt like shit bc of it. Deadlifts tomorrow and I'm pumped for it. I'm suppose to deload next week but I have to option to skip this one bc I just deloaded 3 weeks ago and I've deloaded after every mini cycle. I'll wait and see how I feel Sunday night/ Monday morning before I make a decision on it.
 
Deadlift day, killed it. Worked up to 3x1 at 415. I tried to go heavier bc I let my ego get in the way and failed at 455. I'm kinda mad at myself for trying to go that heavy this soon and not following my program. I form looked good I think. I would post it on here for people to check out but it has my face in it the whole time. I would like a 2nd opinion tho.
 
Now to top off my morning, someone hacked my banking account and charged $800 worth of shit to a bunch of places in Long Island. Mother fucker!!!:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

Weight today is 224, going up a little since I'm not watching what I eat this week.
Overhead press day, worked up to 3x1 at 200 and managed 2 reps on my last set. Feels like I pinched a nerve in my neck now tho. Doesn't hurt really but it stings when I look right.

Bank called me first thing in the morning before I even had a chance to call them,and I'm getting all my money back. I have most of it already but I'm still waiting on $150, had to get a new card and sign some papers stating I'm disputing the charges. I hope people that steal other people's money like this burn in hell, karmas a bitch and will catch up to them.

Oh yea, my wife gave me the ultimate compliment the other day. she told me that my back definition is really starting to look amazing and that she can tell I've been working on it. I credit all the deadlifts I've been doing and the pull ups i started 2 months ago.

pull ups, deads and bent over rows are all you need to build a solid back. in my opinion, back is the most crucial muscle group of them all. you use it and need it in every compound lift.
 
At my favorite gym right now with my wife doing some cardio, walking on treadmill, god I love planet fitness. I always have a good laugh, and feel better about myself when I come. Doing yoga tonight, hoping to get this pinched nerve better, Its gotten better but I keep aggravating it when I do overhead press.
 
I'm skipping my deload this week and I'll deload in 3 weeks. I've been deloading every 3 weeks the last 3 months. I was nervous that I over did it last night at yoga bc they were making us do warrior 1-2 pose and a bunch of hard ones that really worked my legs. But I actually woke up and felt great and after my warm up sets my legs where ready. I worked up to 3x5 at 365. I'm back to watching what I eat again. From eating like shit last week, my stomach was messed up all week.

Thanks man, I only started doing it bc my wife wanted to and she's my best friend so I wanna spend time with her. I figured it can't hurt, I'm getting more flexible and found out that my hips are really really really stiff. So are my shoulders, so this is helping.
 
Chest day, did 3x5 260 nice pause at the bottom on all reps. My form totally sucked ass until my last set, I kept forgetting shit. Didn't set my shoulders one set, feet on another, bar path was off, right shoulder slipped out of position on one. It was crazy, idk what the hell is going on with me today. My heavy sets where all good but that's it.
 
Woot woot!!! Deadlift day!!!! Love it!!! lol I did finally complete all my set with out straps for the first time. I worked up to 3x5 385. I only started training my grip strength when I started powerlifting. I felt like a puss bc I couldn't even pick 300lbs up without straps. Now I'm doing static holds for 20 seconds with 455. We'll close to 20 seconds anyway lol I feel pretty proud of myself.

You and me both. I ditched the straps close to a year ago and haven't looked back. Always used straps rather than work on grip strength, not a good look lol. I applaud the effort
