hey guys i just got some melatonin to help me sleep and ive never takin it before. i was wondering are there any negative affects will it being that im a bodybuilder and im also on a steroid cycle? thanks
 
OTC Melatonin should not effect your bb lifestyle.I have used it in the past but it did not help me.
 
Melatonin is awesome stuff, I take it...well a lot, not to get all technical, but you'd be fine taking it on or off cycle, I've done both to help me sleep. I usually take 6-10mg's about 30 mins before bed. I will advise that if you take to much you most likely will end up with some really wild dreams.
 
Not harmful, but between melatonin and GABA, GABA is the winner. Knocks you're ass out and increase growth hormone! Win/Win situation!
 
I've used melatonin and Gaba i n an attempt to help me sleep.Both had an unnoticable effect.
GHRP6 is far better.
 
Start with the dose recommended on the bottle.

Melatonin is also helpful if you travel from one timezone to another. It helps you get over jet lag fast!
 
Yes melatonin is really good stuff, It is made in your brain by the pineal gland and is secreted when the evening gets darker and secretion stops when you enter into the sun light. Its great natural product that is even safe for kids to take it.
 
I've taken melatonin but it didn't work for me. From what i've been told you need to take it on a regular basis for a couple weeks before you start to notice it working. I'd suggest starting at 4mg 35min before bed.
 
If you do your looking online, source naturals sells a sublingual melatonin. I'll buy the 5mg put one under my tounge and its night to the world.

O and if your wired as hell on Clen, then take 2 mel's under the tongue, 2 valerian root ext, caps, then hopefully you'll fall asleep some time in the next 5 hours.

But the pills you swallow usually don't work unless you get a really good kind. That is just my opinion though. But once your body is set in a natural routine, you usually don't need them anymore.

None for me. I take 3 pills every night. Works better than say, a nighttime PM medicide. Also...nighttime sleep meds make me horny as hell. I am not sure why but everytime I take a T-pm or any of the normal over the counters I wake up wanting to bang something. But if I take nothing or melatonin I am fine.
 
to my knowledge there are no long term studies as to the effect of use of melatonin on the body. I have been taking it for years to help promote a natural sleep cycle to combat working 3rd shift and having to sleep durning day light hours. Love the stuff:)

Its funny you say that, when I don't take mel I have the same problem.

I have found that Valerian Root extract works very well for sleep, also controls the mind and thoughts when trying to sleep.

Yes, Valerian and Melatonin work for me too. I used them pretty extensively when I was using Tren about 7 years ago on a heavy cycle and it helped a lot. Trazadone is good but it's a pharm and I feel the naturally occuring is better than Valium or a drug like Trazadone.

I'm the exact same way.. Even ambian makes me horny..psychotic and horny

Tylenol PM is the worst for me. I always go to sleep fine then about 15 minutes after falling asleep I wake up and its horridly intense.

The weird thing is, to be detailed, it makes sex freaking insane. I know some of the college kids that lived near me would take it on purpose before sex. I can now see why:)

it actually stops after a penlight application to the back of your knee for less than 30 sec. Even your clock on your night stand can stop it. It should always be taken 2-3 hrs prior to bed and you should always be in a very dark room to get it to work. If you have any ambient light at all if shuts down.

Melatonin is the brains main antioxident because it protects mitochondrial DNA in neurons. If you want to understand just how important this is read NICK LANE's New bookon a new theroy on aging called Power Sex and Suicide. It will make you understand just how complex the issue really is.

It major production endogenously is from the pineal but the pineal fatigues early in humans because of all the ambient light we face now since 1927 world wide. Melatonin used to be the master hormone but now that falls to leptin because of all the artificial light limits its effectiveness. It remains however critical for certain species like the bear. Even in human studies melatonin still has to answer to leptin dominance in how it really works. The more we learn about leptin the more we are realizing it is the key to most HRT therapy. If your leptin resistant you are going to be a tough patient to manage with HRT. That is why women are so much more tough to deal with than men because evolutionary wise the have higher leptin levels and higher body fat levels for reproduction.

That is why on CAT scans and MRI's most twenty yr old have calcified or patially calciifed pineals.........they are burned out. So the body then make it from the endpoint of carbohydrate metabolites that wind up making serotonin........serotonin is converted to melatonin in the brain directly after a minimum of 4 hrs of pitch black light. Any ambient light turns it off.

So if you are taking melatonin and its not working............two main reasons........too much light in the room your sleeping or the dose is too low based upon youre inflammatory levels in the CSF. Generally the higher your HS-Crp is the higher does of melatonin is required to get the effect.
SO if your a healthy male with a HS CRP below 1 then you'll need low dose melatonin.......but if your an American eating a diet high in Omega 6's and 9's and a ton of carbs...........you could need 30-40 mgs to get the same effect............of you could try to learn how to control leptin and watch your sleep sex steroid and GH jump dramatically and your cortisol levels fall and your insulin leve stay below 5 and over time even your HBA1C will fall...........by definition every type 2 DM is leptin resistant. That is the definition of insulin resistance.......it is the endpoint of leptin resistance. And ironically that is precisely biologically how a bear knows when its time to hibernate............they get leptin resistant and develop insulin resistant............and they lay down to sleep it all off............using leptin and melatonin from all the carbs they feed upon in the summer when fruits grew...............humans have 24 7 access to carbs and are immune to melatonin and are all leptin resistant now.

another side point...........oxytocin is released by the posterior pituitary during orgasm..........in large quantities......it causes you to snuggle.......but also sleep because oxytocin stimulates melatonin formation faster than any other known method........so if you really cant sleep.........you'd be smart to screw or masterbate til you orgasm and try doing it in pitch black for maximum effectiveness.

It works.
