Learned french in HS due to the region i was in
Learning german
Remember i got 14 hrs a day to multitask. Rosetta stone is sweet
Rosetta stone pretty good then?
I messed with a girl who's mother is german, always fucked me up when they talked to each other. Just enough similarities with English that it made me feel like I was retarded for not knowing what the hell they were talking about:confused:

Holy shit. I say unto you sir..that's impressive. I can't seem to get the red neck out of my vocabulary. Took Spanish in high school then worked gold dredges in Mexico for six months.

They spoke totally different Spanish than what I was taught. Three languages is impressive.
Nothin wrong with redneck. :)
Its who i am too a redneck. That is often used to put ppl down but i dont get it. Its a good thing i think. Means you aint a yuppie :D

And believe me it isnt that impressive. Im not bragging really. I lived close to canada my whole life and worked in Quebec and the GTA for 3 yrs. Learning french was a necessity for daily business and goes a long way when you show a lil respect and speak their language first. Then theyll gladly speak in English with you.
My german is elementary at best. Never been outside of a cd with it. No RL experience with it. But its fun

I used it for my kids to learn Greek and they were doing pretty well with it. You do have to keep up with it though. If you use craigslist or something similar you can find people selling theirs or bootleg versions. That's what I got. Cost me 100.

I enjoyed all of Gary Paulson's books haven't read anything from him since high school or maybe middle school. Wonder how many kids he's convinced to go live in the woodso_Olol

What's it about?
Its hard to describe but its messages are so on point. Its a true story about a college student who thinks he knows all but meets a very interesting guru(he has no idea who the guy is, just thinks he's eccentric). Ive given this book to many people to read and if you like it, it will seem like finding something you didn't even know you were looking for.

I recently re-read 'The Innocent Man' by John Grisham. It's the true story of 2 men in prison for murder. It had me hooked and at points of the book I was incredibly pissed off. I highly recommend it!

Currently reading 'Treasury's War' by Juan Zarate. It tells how the Treasury Department went after terrorist financing after 9/11. A bit dry as the guy is a laywer, but it was a subject I was interested in.

@NovaFlex how impatient for the next Stormlight Archive book are you? I check Sanderson's website every few months and I'm always disappointed by the little status bar next to it. Was supposed to be this spring and now the end of the year. There's a teaser chapter available, but I don't even want to read it until I have my hands on the book.

I figured.o_O:D

But honestly, I've been waiting since I finished the last one a month after it was released. It'll be worth it tho. I should start reading the Hands of time series.... or whatever the name is of that one that he finished.

I figured you'd know what was up, lol.

I had book two preordered through Amazon. As soon as book three is available for preorder I'll be doing that, too. Have you read Warbreaker? It's tied in to it. The talking sword from the end of book two is from it. Worth a read in the meantime if you haven't. You used to be able to download it free from Brandon's website as a way to get his work to new potential fans.

I'm enjoying the hell out of the wheel of time series. :D Got to check into some of Sandersons books when I get done with this series. 5 down 9 or 10 left.lol

I like the author Brad Thor. He's an ex navy seal and a damn good writer. His books have action, sex, and are 6-10pg chapters so it's a fast read. Top notch series.
