Metformin does not mimick insulin. It re-sensitizes the liver and muscle to insulin in people with hyperinsulinemia (typically Type II diabetes). Metformin is a very good Type II diabetes drug but it's use for weight loss isn't quite as impressive . . . unless you are obese.scrappy said:I notice there are a bunch of these diabetic drugs, not just metformin.

There are lots of good drugs out there like metformin, etc. but they also carry more side effects (e.g. some stres the liver) and cost a lot more than a bottle of humulin. You can use a starting dose of as little of 2iu's of insulin to mimick the effects of the other drugs. Just a suggestion, be safe and good luck bro....
