Mike Tyson Vs. Bruce Lee

Aha! Not only can I choke a chicken, but I choked out two separate people!

Today was rough! A new guy came up. Finally, I have a big'n'. He's an ex-college wrestler and he's a nice and heavy 270. We went at it something fierce. By the end of it, he was pissed off and started slapping my head hard. I don't think he expected to get as much resistance as he did. I may have shown him a thing or two.

Either way, he'll be damn good when he gets some more training in. I haven't had to work that hard since my old roomate left and this guy makes me work even harder since he's a lot heavier. I'm still up 12-4 in the takedown department, though.

I feel like their fucking father, though. There were 4 nineteen year olds and one 21 year old up this evening. Now when I say, "I'm too old for this shit" they believe me. :D

270 and ex-collegiate wrestler. That guy should be a great training partner. Go easy on him at first or he might not come back! Your next fight is coming up soon isnt it, and how has the CKD Diet been coming? Also, it sounds like your training facility has an open-door policy. Do you ever get cocky guys come in and think they can kick everyone's ass?

I stopped in once, kicked Grizzly in the balls dropping him like aton of bricks, and walked out like a champion. :D

He is pretty tough. Luckily, he's only 19, so he only wrestled for a year before he got sidelined with 2 concussions. He'll definitely come back, though. I already mentioned training Saturday night. I asked him if he wanted to go or if he would rather go out and drink and he said, "Fuck drinking, hell yeah, let's fight!" Now that's a good attitude.

CKD isn't going too badly. I kind of miffed it a bit this weekend, but that's alright. Well, except for the fact that I spent all day on the shitter after eating all those carbs. LOL

My training facility does have an open door policy. It's whoever I let in. :) I have a key for a karate place that we can use when there's no classes. With the addition of this new guy, we have a solid group of 4 and 2 other wussy, slacker guys that come up sometimes. One of them knows EVERYTHING, but he's so damn lazy and un-athletic that he's really not much to deal with. But, they're bodies, so they have some use.

Next fight: Depends on the prospective job. If he's still dicking around when I call tomorrow, then I'm going to sign a fight ASAP. There's a bunch going on that I've been invited to, so....

edit- Cocky guys? Not usually, but there was this one TKD guy that came up with us once. He was a "big scary blackbelt" and he'd won tournaments or some shit. He kept throwing these kicks on the bag acting all tough and shit. Then, we sparred. Holy shit did we beat him down! LOL He kept changing his lead foot and bouncing and all that stupid TKD crap. My old roomate kicked the hell out of his legs and I beat his face in. All in all, it was a good damn time! :D He hasn't been back since. LMAO

Dude what are you doing sparring with these kids while you have the Miletech boys in town?!!.. i'm sure they'd love to have someone like you, considering that they don't have many heavies (i know you don't like Tim but who cares right?).

If i'm ever near your parts, i'll drop by..

Shit, I only wished I had the MFS folks in town. I'm like 4 hours away from them.

I like Tim. I think he's a cool guy, but I don't think he's the world's best fighter like a lot of people do. They have 2 heavies of note over there and one up and comer. Sylvia and Eilers are both tough SOBs and I've heard the other guy is slick as hell on his back. I'd love to be with them, but, alas, I can not drive. Maybe when I get my license back I'll get on over there.

Dude if you want MMA to be your career, then you should move. You're young, and you have experience in the ring. For a MMA fighter, worst enemy is time/age ('cept the freak Randy). Unless MMA is not that serious in your life, you need to seize the day..

I can only seize the day when it doesn't require me being stuck in a relatively large city without transportation and a job. :)

Then they'd expect me to be in shape all the time and I'd have to give up ice cream and key lime pie. :( Not fucking likely! :D

I would have to go with Bruce. Though you would have to say that one hit from Mike refreshed would put Bruce down. But if you could see the speed of the mans kick you have to understand that it would take down any man. And we can even say that Mike does get back up from the kick there is no way hes going to be able to still fight at 100%.

Bruce Lee by a long shot . Shit have you ever read the tao of jeet kwon do? Hell it is like a text book for fighting wrote 15-20 years before UFC and is a fighting style that was his own. Now Tyson Might beat somebody like Don "the dragon" Wilson but Bruce? No fuckin way!

Holy shit! We're back on topic. Who would have guessed. LOL

I still don't agree with that, though. Barring a kick to the head, it shouldn't cause to much damage. There is a reason for weight classes. I don't care how hard a featherweight boxer hits...for his size...a decent heavyweight will put him on his ass. The hwt can even stand there and take a few shots and it won't hurt him that badly. It's not like Tyson has never taken a shot or anyting. I don't think he would be surprised or anything to have his bell rung once or twice.

Mike would have Bruce re-writing his book :)

Honestly Bro look at the moves in that book and tell me thats not the style that made the sport. Bruce wasnt all Hollywood, he trained like a fool and coulda been more than ready for him or even took Tyson on site.

IMO Bruce wasnt a bullshit Hollywood fighter he just couldnt fight a 38.

I could put some good moves together but it doesn't mean i can execute them in a fight. It's hard to say unless we actually saw Lee fight.

Manwhore makes a good point. There are a lot of moves that work well on a 1/2 speed, non-resisting opponent. This is why TMA's hold so much appeal and mystique. However, the whole thing changes when the opponent is actually trying to hurt you.

For instance, I took karate when I was young. I still remember one move that I thought was cool as hell until I started actually fighting for real.

When a guy throws a punch, you grab his wrist and turn your back while placing his elbow on your shoulder. You then pull down and he either gets flipped or his elbow breaks. Hey, that sounds cool as hell! Too bad it would never, ever work. Hell, someone turns their back on me and they'll quickly find themselves being placed in a read naked choke.
