MILIPORE STERITOP = Junk

Had the cup separate from the base of filter, lost media everywhere. Very poor choice of design to put the structurally weakest point of the unit there. Switched remainder of liquid to foxx autofill and rocked it on out. GPZ has promised to replace these filters with sum other stuff for me fwiw

DO NOT USE hope this helps someone. ALSO, as reccomended by a friend. Place whole filtering apparatus into pie pan b4 beggingining. I'd have another 50ml now if I had. Thankful I caught the leak b4 I left for work.

Bout and 1/8" of separation when lightly squeezing. Total junk.

Highly reccomend foxx, doubt I will go anywhere else

What solvents are in your brew.
Some will cause this to happen.

Nothing that should but thanks for heads up, I wouldn't have thought if using EO, BA BB powder oil

What about the guaiccol we are talking about does it do the same to rubber/plastics?

Go with Celltreat bottletop filter systems . They are on e-Bay . Works great !
Cheap too...(I got the 250ml model)

Nice. I went with glass medias, I just bathe and dry sterilize before screwin her on. Heard a horror story about a plastic receiver lol much worse than what happened to me.

Reported this yesterday already have tracking from GPZ with the replacement stuff. Pretty legit. They will screw your order up. If you count this one then 3/3 but they are very prompt. First order was way over like 2x my order, 2nd missing something, 3rd STERITOP junk. I'm just a glutton for punishment :)

EO can eat through plastics and rubber. I have two vials of the stuff I bought last March and I looked at them a few months back and the entire stopper had disintegrated. Don't know how long it took as I didn't really check up on them but yea....

I cleaned my Cell-Treat and it looks good as new .
Dont plan on using EO anyway (junk).

What about the G tho guys. Any issues with that "super" solvent

@Docd187123 you think it can be substituted for EO in recipe for same ratios? I've no experience with it other than using(not making) TNE, looking to use it soon tho

I see no reason to ever use EO , it causes allergic reactions in a great number of guys , who wants to gamble that they are one of the ones ?

Now MCT seems very popular and makes up the majority of brewing it seems , w/ GSO just as popular (GSO is the original oil carrier in most pharma gear)

Not 100% sure as I have never brewed with guaiacol but what filter material do you have? Nylon, PES, Etc? IMO PVDF would be the best filter to use if using heavy solvents or EO.

I don't think guaiacol and EO are interchangeable. The former is a super duty solvent and the other acts more of as a thinning agent. You can use the two together I'd assume and maybe SLIGHTLY alter ratios but I highly doubt you can sub EO for guaiacol.

Damn I Just ordered 2 of these at the same place.
Do they fit 45mm media bottle? Or are they for 35mm?
Solvent Im using is Guaiacol and EO.
And they usually eat the plactic out.

45mm bro the second one turned my clear media cloudy and blue wtf

Just switched 250ml over to foxx And now it's clear as rain. Just toss your $20 for 2 of a diff brand. Srsly DO NOT USE

I should know but I don't. Checking now. Doesn't say on packaging what membrane is used. I'm only using BA an BB tho.

Gotcha will not use G in place of EO will not use EO period lol

Thanks for the info bro.
That happened to me on The Nalgene bottle top filter from another supplier. Made my Bold Cyp cloudy. I blew out the filter because I think it was too hot to handle it especially with EO and G. So I did a second batch that is just around 90f temp and it filtered ok.

Ive used whatman Zapcaps coupled with Hybex 45mm glass media jars and haven't had any issues with them whatsoever. I believe they are nylon membranes but they do state they're chemical resistant. A buddy uses EO with them and hasn't had any issues I'm aware of

Thx final solution still a little cloudy. But I guess it will havta do for now. Solution was cool when it went into autofill but was maybe 125f when going into steritop.

Doc I looked @ the zap caps myself. May give em a shot

Gotta a good link for the zap caps?

This is the place I bought mine from. You might find them cheaper other places but since I got all my supplies from here I didn't shop around. Shipping time was great, good customer service bc I ordered the wrong crimper and exchanged it for the right one, decent prices, and everything came packaged securely even all the vials I ordered).
