More Pudzianoski (shoulder routine)

I read about this a wlhile back and did a search on it. I think I remember reading that they performed a random drug test on Pudz and Svend Karlsen (they supposedly drew their names from a hat or something like that). I don't think they tested for steroids, but instead were testing for opoids, amphetamines, etc. Anyways, Karlsen passed but Pudz supposedly failed, which is why he didn't appear in the WSM final that year even though he placed. I'll see if I can find the article on it.

You guys ought to see a World Champs Oly lifting training hall tape from Ironmind. Pick any year; it doesn't make any difference. You won't believe how many times 200 kilos is pushed up with ease.

www.ironmind.com The '95 video with Stefan Botev is incredible.

What's funny is you see these guys routinely squatting heavy weight from these cheesy racks in the training halls. No helpers to rack the bar, and lots of times no wraps or belts. And these guys are paid by their respective countries to be full time lifters. But that's the purity of oly lifting, just get out there and pull on it, and don't expect anybody to help you, even if it's in their best interest to do so.

i dont see the need for this kind of excercise hes doin, pressin up from behind with your legs to!!why not just sit down under a rack and press it from behind!!!!i can see from the front doing that kind of shoulder press, but from the back, wtf

Why do they make it look like he does a 'shoulder' day?

I gotta believe that his workouts are more than some dumbass BB split.

DB, you still practicing snatches and cleans. I took a break from them after last years Master Nationals. I lost a lot of speed, but have most of my strength. Just have to put them together.

when the 350 comes back down on his back like that, i imagine that every disc in his back is squishing. that guy throws some weight around. he uses a little help from momentum but i won't knock him, i couldn't do that in 1000 years.

its not too hard on your back if you learn to lower it right. ive done a behind the neck push press with 440lbs, and lowered it with no problem. the trick is to absorb the force with the legs a little. if you try to catch it with stiff legs, that would be a problem.

i am not sure, but i think i posted a video on this board a long time ago of a kid i train doing a 375lb push press for 2 reps at a bodyweight of 195lbs, on the second rep as he absorbed the force of lowering the bar with his legs, it drove him all the way into a full squat! the cool thing was, he didnt freak out as he went down and lose his balance, he hit the rock bottom squat position and stood back up and racked the bar. i dont have that vid on my computer anymore, but if there is an archive of vids on this site that someone can access, it would have been posted maybe 3-4 years ago or something like that. its a cool vid to watch.

Dumbass bodybuilder split means that, by and large, the routine followed by "bodybuilders" sucks ass.
Exactly. I was specifically referring to the idea of a traditional bodypart split, which in my mind is obviously and patently flawed.

Want to explain what you don't like about BBing routines and why they are flawed? .. Also, what they are flawed at accompishing
