Mr. Olympia 2025

this was the Olympics of SEO. Can’t recall ever seeing it be so obvious on so many competitors. Nick is lucky man. He was shitting on the judges since Pittsburgh. He did not belong in the top 10 at all. They just left him there for politics. He brings a lot of followers / fans. If he placed where he should have it would’ve been “bad for the sport” (read: influential people / sponsors losing money). Literally looked like swallowed a sea turtle.

Real soft for 1st place… can’t stop looking at the biceps with this double bicep. Nowhere near conditioned for 1st? Like huh?
I know this shot is softened by compression or whatever, but this gotta be a joke, right? Should have been 3rd, if not fourth, based on everything I've seen so far.
Hadi lookingl like granite, despite the too obvious SEO use.
Samson looking really small here, but at least his biceps look decently detailed.
Andrew really was the break star of the show.

I wasn't talking about his "stage presence"... I meant is his objectively terrible posing. He could look so much better, if he actually knew how to hit a pose right...
@Eddie. Look at the front lat spread of Andrew, in the above post by @Tbaz192.
He pushes his entire rib cage down. This accentuates his shoulders width - something he really not need to accentuate, given his insane width - but makes him look a a bit 2D/planar. Google how Dorian did this pose with the chest up. If Andrew would do that he would look much more statueesque.

Yeah not sure what the judges saw or wanted this year.
those photos definitely lost the sharpness. But still interesting results.

Samson put on weight this year I thought? and yet came in lookin a tad smaller/full.

Feel like the judges every year change what they want to see. As time goes on, things change and either progress or change completely that’s life. So I get that’s hard to navigate each year in bodybuilding. Especially at a level these guys are at, they’re already maxxing out the limits for looks and size.

Buttttt IMO - Bring us back to the early 2000’s type physiques. That was such a great era.
Now we got dudes built like fridges with so much mass in areas there’s no lines or separation.

Once again, a pocket-sized champ took the win and it’s starting to feel like déjà vu. Mr. Olympia should be a tall, aesthetic powerhouse, not someone who looks like they could fit in the overhead compartment. When Andrew and Samson stood center stage with the smaller guys on each side, it was pure art - massive, balanced, and commanding. Hadi’s great, no doubt, but when I picture Mr. Olympia, I see at least 180 cm (5’11”) of Greek-god proportions, not a fun-sized warrior whose biceps look like they called in sick.

I am yet to see a single shot, where the title for Derek is justified by any meaningful metric in this sport...

this is just my personal opinion but andrew jacked is the one on that stage i most wanna look like.
Before Samson, we simply had not EVER even seen such a physique, it is mind boggling, if you really think about it. Gunther Schlierkamp was the last tall Top5 Olympian, Freeman didn't place that high, Quincy Taylor was far off, Jamie the Giant, could have *maygotten there, but pulled out of the game, and if I am not forgetting someone else, there were none.

i will take this as someone who hopes to compete.
throw everyone under 180cm out
You need to have them legs, boy. No legs at your height, no soup for you!
There is a reason we have not ever seen many tall guys in the Top6, it is extremely hard to build good legs at this height.

I will never have any respect for a guy posing in Hawaii shorts, that doesn't really train legs as one should. Never.
I have to meet anyone who started training for that class, that would have done so without social media.
Many guys in the other classes are still like that.

Also, don't train to stand out, do this sport for yourself.
Not their fault the dumbasses in the IFBB decreed they should wear board shorts lol. Most of them have pretty okay legs still for their weight. They are pretty much the only dudes left in bodybuilding who still have small waists, which is something. Even classic guys now just look like miniaturized versions of Open guys. Legs too big, delts too comical, chest and arms too small.

Huge drumstick legs and a waist that looks like you ate a physique competitor are not aesthetic. Legs have gotten so big that calves can not possibly be proportional anymore so their legs just look comical.

The winner has legs that stretch his "Hawaii shorts."

Finally, I was that close telling it but I skipped it.. I’m tired of seeing guys from ex shorties division winning the open class. Open should be open in both height and width lol, we need more guys like Andrew, Samson, Behrooz etc.

This goes decades back, Columbo had impressive physique, Padilla had impressive physique.. it was Arnold and Ferigno who made the difference in stature. But that’s just my personal opinion and I don’t expect everyone agrees.

Peds grow everything, if we could skip some muscles I guess we’d start from the heart lol.

Nobody forced them to compete in that class.

I'll give you that, the guy does have legs. Not sure about the others, but I also don't care. This doesn't change the fact that bodybuilding, at least for the longest time, has been a sport, where you present the entirety of your physique. What up next, posing in jeans and a nice jacket, with no shirt on?
Not only that, the poses, that every bodybuilder has to do, are not only looking as one should, when standing on stage, they are also a very precise way to asses anyone's overall development. That is why everyone looks great in the gym mirror, but not on stage.
Let them show all poses and wear appropriate posing slips, then I will agree that this class has its merit.

The guy is also way bigger than the Classic guys, I am not too impressed by the waist, TBH. I mean it would be great for open, but not for claiming you are the class with the tiniest waists.

Also, the IFBB is still retarded for blasting the LED screen during finals. Moronic as always.

There barely have been any so far. The human physiology is apparently not up for building so much mass, that you can fill out such tall and wide frames. You have to be born for this, it can't be forced, such as with Nick for example.
Like I said, there never have been two guys like Andrew and Samson. Never.

And with the other classes draining new talent from the pool, I am afraid we will not see too many more of those, at least in the near future.
