my proposed method for mostly(?) anonymous crypto payments

Hello all. I have never used a cryptocurrency before and want to understand how to perform a reasonably anonymous transfer. After reading a number of posts on this forum I have a proposed method and a few questions, if you would be so kind as to help me understand where my understanding is falling short.

I take this post as my starting point, and have a few additions:

Crypto Payments 101: A noob friendly guide on how to pay to a src

I am using a paid VPN generally considered to have acceptable privacy practices.

1. Select an onramp/exchange. My choice at the moment is to use Kraken. @Liska suggests it as a good option for UK. I am in USA but I assume it will be ok for USA also. I will create an account at Kraken. https://thinksteroids.com/community/threads/cat-cafe-eu-us-domestic.134405499/page-186#post-2919197
2. Purchase a coin. I intend to purchase Monero at Kraken using a credit card in my name
3. Transfer the Monero from Kraken to a Exodus wallet (question below about this)
4. At Exodus I will exchange the Monero to BTC
5. I will set up a payment to a source using the BTC in the Exodus wallet

Questions:
Is Kraken acceptable for a US onramp/exchange? Are there better options to consider?

Is Exodus acceptable for a wallet? I also considered TrustWallet, but TrustWallet does not support Monero.

Does the above method break the chain for anonymity? According to @laqpoqir in this post, https://thinksteroids.com/community/threads/sunrise-pharma.134403911/page-2#post-2723687 companies that allow purchase from USA are required to log the first transfer out. If so, then the transfer from Kraken to Exodus is not secure even though Monero is thought to break the chain. @MFAAS osted this as a an example of what appears to be a more complex but more secure method:

Buy BTC (Kraken) then
Withdraw BTC to personal desktop agent wallet (Exodus) then
Exchange BTC to XMR (on Exodus? or localmonero.com? is this a new wallet?)
Exchange XMR to BTC (on Exodus? is this a new wallet?)
Send BTC to source

If I choose to use a source that accepts Monero then I should still transfer the Monero out of Kraken to a wallet before sending to the source because Kraken might freeze my account, correct?. https://thinksteroids.com/community/threads/good-wallets.134404518/#post-2747921

I guess my main question is whether to purchase BTC then exchange it for Monero then exchange it back to BTC, or just purchase Monero and exchange it for BTC. Since I am new to all of this I am sure there are things that I do not understand, so please let me know if you suggest something different than what I proposed.

I have benefited from reading the posts of @ruxin32424 , @MFAAS , @Jire , @Millard , @laqpoqir , @Liska and others I have forgotten. If any other newbies are trying to learn then I suggest reading past posts by them and starting with the Crypto Payments 101 post as they are very helpful. Thank you.

XMR (on Exodus?
You cannot interact with XMR on Exodus at all presently as the devs still haven't updated to accommodate the recent Monero hardfork upgrade, which is inexcusable at this point in time. Cake wallet or Feather depending on your device would be my suggestions for functional Monero wallets at the moment.

That is unfortunate. Thanks for the alternate suggestions. What do you make of the "log first transfer out" requirement for companies that allow purchase from USA? I understand that you're not USA, but perhaps you might know anyway.

I'm pretty sure you can't use kraken in the US.
A lot of peeps use cashapp to purchase btc.
Most of us relying on them not putting together an investigation to bust us for a cycle or two.

I visited this web page on the Kraken website, and it says:

Kraken is registered as a Money Services Business (MSB) with:
FinCEN in USA — registration number 31000176593851.

Is that not enough to be able to use it? Even if I can't open an account and fund it from USA could I transfer BTC in and exchange for XMR?

If you like taking advice from low life UGL drug dealers involved in forum trickery and who know how to google and do scientific research...then this pussy might appeal to you.

My advice...avoid and ignore anything he/she ever says.

The person has a huge ego and is an self appointed expert/genius about everything steroid/Ped related....but the truth is another matter entirely and never unbiased.

Roll the dice and believe whatever you want though bro.

If you want solid advice about this topic.....I'd recommend talking to @MFAAS or @Millard

Thank you for the input. I do understand that there are, shall we say, disagreements, between various members, and members and sources, and sources and sources, and it's good to have members unafraid to speak critically.

That said, I don't know of anything in your post that would help me answer the questions of fact (tracking Monero first hop for example) that I am looking for information on, which is what I am most interested in. Liska gave me insight on the current state of Exodus and Monero, which I verified here
Code:
https://support.exodus.com/article/2192-monero-xmr-hardfork
and gave some suggestions on alternative wallets for me to consider. Liska didn't ask me to trust them on using Cake and Feather, and I do intend to research them further. I will certainly be skeptical about anything that seems off.

I appreciate you recommending MFAAS and Millard. I came away from my previous researching having positive opinions of their perspectives and will consider anything they say very seriously.

Safest way will be to find a crackhead who will verify account for you in any financial institution that accepts cash deposits from Green Dot or Moneypak. Then you can shop for bitcoin with their virtual card or debit card which can be ordered to abandoned house or apartment mailbox. You can use the same crackhead to verify coinbase or any other website where you want to purchase crypto using your previously ordered card.
Thats an idea which i came across googling for few minutes, im sure you may find better ways knowing how financial stuff in your country works.

Ithink it is

I think in 2023 this is the only anonymous way to buy crypto

Dont Exchange directly in Exodus. Their fees and Speed are aweful. Use sideshift.ai or any other Exchangers From kycnot.me

You can find local sellers that you meet in person and pay with cash. Theres several sites that line up buyers and sellers. You can also use Samourai Wallet for bitcoin that has a couple mixing features to wash your coins. There's btc atms that do no kyc for trades under a certain amount too. Many people have suggested the monero to btc swap which is a good way too. Kucoin exchange has no kyc... so you can send monero there and trade for btc and then your btc isn't tied to your personal finances. It's best to run your tranactions through a couple wallets first to create space from the origin and final destination.

Bitcoin atm need your ID. Sounds like you need ssn to buy bitcoin. It is what it is

Anonymous is outside the USA, or said person in USA is using tech from >2007 and communication device's from outside usa with a crackheads "consent" , there were a couple but since 2020-2021 the no-kyc is hard to find. Unless small tx under certain threshold or you mine the crypto or some other person uses there ID and send funds to a wallet for a 3rd party

This bitcoin is a double edged sword. Either your don't exit the metaverse, or the risk becomes greater.

I'm just worried they ever bust one of these guys. They have every person's ID or ssn that ever sent them money.

FYI for what's it's worth the ONLY way you're going to hide your btc transaction is through actual washing websites in darknet.

But really I wouldn't even worry about being caught through btc purchases. Because if someone is looking into your purchases youre already caught. And your source has your name, address, and all that. You should be worried about your source getting caught not you. DEA gives zero fucks about some random AAS small time buyer.

The bigger your source the higher chance you're getting got. Unless they are overseas .... BUT WAIT THERES MORE ...

You know how the FBI, NSA, and law enforcement in general can't just intercept communications? Well guess what the second your data travels outside the USA they can and do. So while they can't touch the sellers they sure as fuck can the buyers. Same reason they can inspect (ie look through all your shit) any and every package coming from outside USA.

Anyways rant aside what I'm trying to say is ... Don't worry that much. If you're going to get got, you're going to get got. Sure take basic precautions but youre not Edward Snowden.

I somehow bought bitcoin and I never gave my ssn. It was very weird but I tried again and it let me buy it without a social. I think it was called mercury the place I bought it.
