Need diet advice!

I have been in the gym for about 4 years but really only taking it seriously for 2 or so. The only part I have had trouble with is dieting. I recently started counting macros and need some advice on what I should be eating. I am 5, 9 and 174 and really want to add some size. I am also planning a possible light test cycle around march and want to get my diet in order for that. I would like to hear what other people eat as far as how much protein carbs and fat per day. A friend of mine of comparable height and weight told me he was eating 250p 400c and 75f when on cycle. I've been counting my macros and eating way more than normal and can only make it up to 300 of carbs. How the fuck do you get all those carbs in? I've been eating a lot of rice and sweet potatoes but what else is good for easy carbs? I've also been getting sick of chicken rice and beans so if anyone has any ideas on how to spice it up i would appreciate it. Thanks

Carbs should be the easy part bro. What's your breakfast?? Oatmeal, grape nuts, chop up a banana and toss it in. That's 60-80g right there. Snack on fruit and handfuls of granola all day. Big ass bowls of whole grain pasta!! One of the guys here just got me started on organic honey. Around 20g per tablespoon. 3 of those a day 60g. Choices are endless. Make homemade pizza. It's not hard. If your trying to gain don't worry about only "clean" foods. Skip chicken for awhile. Ground beef and turkey. Fish. 2 pounds of ground turkey, 2 cans of diced tomatoes, 3 cans of assorted beans plus 2 chili packets. Cheap as shit and that's 3-4 meals with tons of protein and carbs. Be creative. Think outside the box. Forgot to add milk bro. Chocolate milk!! I drink a container of Fairlife chocolate milk everyday. That will get your carbs up quick. Good luck.

I slack on breakfast a little only because I go to the gym around 430 am before work. The shake sounds like a good idea though. Where do you get this honey? That sounds really easy. Thanks for the help

Ideally you want locally sourced organic honey. There's alot of farmers markets where I live so I get it there. If not every grocery store has an organic section. Just grab it there. Just make sure it's USDA organic.

Thanks for all the input! One more question. Say I'm trying to drop some body fat a few months before a cycle, what should I do? Drop the carbs a bit?
