Hey guys i'm thinking about switching from Bodybuilder over to Powerlifting because i really like to move heavy weight.
Since i am training in a powerlifting gym (oldschool) and some people there told me i should switch to powerlifting because i relatively strong. Never thought of that actually lol.
I never trained or did a powerlifting routine so i think my lifts aren't that strong compared to you guys on here.
So my current lifts are ( 315x2 Bench , 315x4 Squat been squatting for only 8 months , shoulderpress 225x2 , deadlift 405x2 never did them because i was only concern about the pump and hypertrophy) .

I turned 22 , 5"7 , 185lbs

So i looked up some powerlifters on YouTube and i found guys like Eric Spoto , Andrey Malanichev they are absolutely beasts!!

Was looking for their routines and i found this link

Eric Spoto's Training Routine & Methods for a World Record Bench - Lift.net

Is there any program which i should look up for or you would suggest?

This Heavy and low days seem to look pretty good to me.

Im sure you are gonna help me because i can count on you

Greetings

If you love it do it nothing more satisfying than getting on a platform and chasing big numbers. You gotta love it because it comes with alot of pain and sacrifice. I been doing it for a year and completely hooked for life.

So guys i realy read a ton of articles to last few days about Powerlifting.

I think i will give it a go!!
But i need to more research because i think Powerlifting is hard on the joints and i should really get my form perfect down. Can't imagine doing like 405 bench one day and my form is a bit off.
Powerlifters and Bodybuilders use different techniques to benchpress/squat from what i've seen so far.

I always let my elbows flare out and bring the bar close to my neck (bodybuilder way to bench)

Thank you guys for the help so far

The hardest is learning bench just took me a few times of having the gym owner go through it with me. Their is a technique to it what i try to do is act like im bending the bar in half so the elbows dont flare and you bring the weight below your chest.

Also have to lay on your lats arch as much as you can and learn to use leg drive. Its very hard to explain and really would help if you had a powerlifter actually talk you through the steps. As far as squats and deadlifts we develop our own form and technique.

Welcome to the real world. Firstly, check how you rank for your weight, age - do you classify as beginner, intermediate, advanced. Sounds like you are at the high end of intermediate, in which case mad cow 5*5 or Texas is going to kick your magical 3's right into overdrive
