Drop set supersett squeeze hard! I dbl in size when stop using my egoGood idea. Upping reps and adding another exercise with 4 more sets for now. Will work up to 24 working sets.
Front squats. Itll keep your back healthierDoc I was thinking about trying to start squatting again. Have only been doing presses. I was thinking about buying a pad for the bar. Should I save my money? If it doesn't help I won't use it. I trust your input.
Thanks trukker. Will try that.Front squats. Itll keep your back healthier
I actually do have access to it. Their equipment was provided to USAF special operators when I was in. I can have that within a week. Good call on that. Thanks.High rep high volume Kroc rows. 15-25 reps. Do 6-8 sets then finish off with 3-4 sets of ring rows.
Unless you have access to the sorinex hurricane. If you do, set the handles in the lowest position and get after it. Do 2 sets with the handles in each position and and extra 2 sets at the end of meadow rows.
The hurricane is the best piece of equipment for back thickness just go crazy with it, make up exercises if you would lie. Options are endless. It's what west side uses as their go to for back work.
What's up guys. Just a quick background. I've had a fusion at the L4-L5 site in my back 4 years ago. I have zero issues with exercises for width but adding thickness is pissing me off! I can't do T bar rows anymore and deadlifts are out. Any suggestions on how to develop more back thickness with other movements?? Really starting to piss me off. Thanks for any advice guys.
I find I get thicker if I use a moderate weight and really increase the time under tension... 2 second concentric, 2 count contraction , 4 second eccentric... You really get to feel the muscles work, and I find it blows up my thickness. Started doing bb rows this way and struggled with 135 going slow, got it up to 215 now and lots thicker I've always struggled with width myself...
Good to hear because I can't go heavy due to the back surgery. Thanks bro. This!!!! I've found the body parts that I don't worry about how much weight I'm using and put my ego aside blow up compared to when I go train with a big head and try to push big numbers.
I never went crazy on back as far as weight goes. I grabbed what I could do for a nice controlled movement, with about 45secs tut and without even putting thought into it my back blew up. Same with my shoulder work, yet chest days I always want to push those big numbers and it's still my lagging body part.

Yeah I've tried the T bar and the initial movement really bothers my back. Unless I kept it to one 45 on the bar. Which I've have to bang out many reps with such a low weight. I have dialated cardiomyopathy, a fib, and a flutter bud. Will the T Bar rows add stress to the other discs around your fusion?
Also, what kind of heart issue do you have brother?
Frank

Its all good bud. I push as much as I can. I listen to my body. It let's me know when to back off.Gotcha...I had a microdiscecomy and I use a belt now. I do limit the weight of current exercises since it may rapture again.
Sorry to hear about your heart.
Frank
