Need training advice for my wife

my wife really wants to get focused with training and eating right. I tried multiple times to get her to the gym with me and train her, but for some reason she just can't stay focused with me. There are a lot of females on this board that are really focused. What can she do to get focused? Is there a program out there that's good for her? She's in the beginner stage. I think she needs a laid out plan that she can follow everyday.

Just make her follow any good structured beginners plan, don't explain just make her do the stuff and let her do some glute or abs stuff that women like to do, if she's a beginner she will see results relatively fast and that is when she will be motivated and take more seriously.

I initiated my wife into lifting with 5x5, I guess it depends, she just followed all directions without question because she trusted me, then she got results and got really disciplined. Record in a journal her workouts, women like to be strong as well and she may like when she see how much had she progressed.

The best way to explain it I heard in a bodybuilding YouTube motivational video. "If you don't love it you ain't gonna push through the diet and training". Everyone I know that doesn't just love training never sticks to a strict training regimen and most quit going altogether or just go to say that they go. The ones that go just to say they go usually waste their time when they're in the gym.

My gf will commit, hit the gym for a week or 2, then fall off for a week or two. She will stick to a diet for a few days and fall off for a couple of days. Once she got a diet app for her phone, picked her own routine, it became more consistent. But even with the weeks between the gym, and not following a diet she was still losing weight.

I got my wife a trainer. And I won't do it but crossfit actually helped her. She's my BFF but we can't work out together. Now I train and she does xfit. And I do mud runs with her.

I can't train with her. I tried. We just wind up fighting, because she says I push her too hard. She just wants to go through the motions and that's it. That's why you see people in the gym year after year wasting time. They don't push themselves hard enough.

Something u have to consider brother is that she just may not want it like u do... hate to say that, but I know lots of girls who wanna look good and claim to be motivated to get there but when all is said and done, they just don't have the drive some of us do... my wife was in the same boat.. I want it for her more than she does.. it doesn't work... my wife is naturally thin and has good genetics so it's fine, but if she were heavy, or sloppy it would be a problem for me...

I agree.

So you want others to motivate those who are NOT motivated
to diet and/or exercise, or become involved in any other worthwhile activity for that matter.

If the answer was anything but complex obesity wouldn't be the huge problem it is today

GOOD LUCK!

I see your point. I think sometimes people need inspiration from somewhere to spark their motivation.

For the many inspiration must come from within or as a result of need or necessity, otherwise the "results" are fleeting IME.

For example any idea how many folk purchase a "gym membership" and attend more than twice a year after the FIRST month ?

Or those who use a "P90X" video for more than a few weeks? In spite of Billy Bob being in your home to "inspire participants". ?

Or purchase the "Abdominizer, or similar home health equipment and actually USE IT to obtain the results as advertised on infomercials ?

The data is relatively consistent from year to year, facility to facility, video to video etc

ABOUT 10%

Heck for a real time estimate of how complex "the problem" really is look no further than Meso's noob posts AND how brief their "experiment" really is!

About the only thing YOU can do is ensure your a good example for her to follow, IME

Looks good. Now I just need adjust it to her daily caloric intake. The funny thing is she would follow a diet if it's posted by someone else as opposed to me. Lol, and I been at this shit a long time. I'm going to tell her your wife's a fitness model and this is what she eats.
