Needle supply

Okay, so this is probably the wrong forum. Recently, I've switched from 25g to 29/30 g needles. The thing is, my 25g was 1 1/2 inches whereas the insulin needles are more like 1/2 an inch (if not smaller). I can't seem to find 1-inch needles (I can't buy from Amazon).

Do they sell such needles? I'm thinking they might not.

I googled 29g 1inch syringe and a lot of results popped up

That's literally the one I use - am I blind? I searched the other day and they only had 1/2-inch ones.
Ah ok I see what you said. Yea I stick with 25g 1” and 25g 5/8”. Both work fine for me. If you’re super lean stick with slin pins if they work. If you’re cycling with multiple ccs of oils I’d just use the 25g.

I don't recommend 29/30 at 1 inch. I tried 30 at 1 inch and it broke while going into glutes. Too thin for 1 inch. If you want to try you can easily get them from shopmedvet. They currently have 30G 1" from Exel in stock and BD on back order. The Exel is the one that broke. Luckily it was only half in so easy to recover. Also, even warmed up MCT oil was difficult to push through this thing which is probably what lead to it breaking in the first place. I was pushing real hard on that plunger. I had the best luck with 1ml syringe. Something about the 3ml syringe that makes it much more difficult to push that plunger. And yes, it was likely bad form and my fault.

Important note: Use a virtual card that only works once or is locked in to that specific store. I have made a total of 3 orders and all 3 times someone tried to use my card fraudulently. I use privacy.com. I can create a virtual visa card that only works on the 1 vendor and has an exact dollar limit on the fly. It blocked a fraudulent order from Dominos and 2 from Walmart. I alway got my needles on time with all items I ordered but they gotta clean house in there. I get it though... When you hungry, you hungry.

I don’t think you can really get 1 inch insulin needles. If you find somewhere tho lmk lol, you can get a 1 inch needle and a 1ml syringe

They are definitely available. But I'm gonna have to agree with @bloke and say it's not a good idea. You don't want to lose one of those things inside of you.

I appreciate all the advice and you've given me a lot to think about. Particularly @bloke with your personal experience. I'm used to 25g 1 1/2 inch needles, so the comparative 29 g just seems tiny. I feel like it's just barely going into the muscle.

The plus side is that I don't even feel the needle. 25 g is relatively painless anyway, just not as pain free as the 29.

That said, I'm definitely not trying to snap a needle and have to dig it out. I've injected and seen a needle bend - I'm actually surprised it didn't snap - so, I think this is an extremely salient point.

I have similar experiences as you. I wouldn’t do 1in with any gauge over 27 or so or else you risk bending and breaking.

And I also have found that using smaller syringes helps. It’s all about physics but I’m not smart enough to give the exact reason why. Something about the barrel being smaller and going through a smaller needle.

regular needle advice:

BD 21G Yellow 5/8" draw up needle.
25G orange 5/8" For delt inject, 1" for quads and 23G blue 1 1/4" for Glute inject.

@bloke why 29/30G in that length ? (1¨) BD 30G are normaly 1/2¨
I have no idea who its for or why it exists. I also don't remember why I bought it. I do everything with 25G 1 inch BD or Exel and 1ml Exel or DB syringe or 3ml if needed. I have no reason why I choose those brands other than they look ok.
