I don't think theres any point doing it filtered vs unfiltered.
I look a quick look out of curiosity, the only thing that looks (?) is the pentadecanoic acid. (not something that can be filtered out either way)

So, we have MCT as a carrier, steroid, and both benzyl alcohol as well as benzyl benzoate. MCT oil is fucking sterile naturally, bacteria can not grow in MCT oil ever. Can anyone offer a good reason why it's necessary to add ba/bb???

MCT oil may be low in bacteria and not support microbial growth easily, but that does not make it inherently sterile or appropriate alone for injectable pharmaceutical products.

BA is widely used in injectable formulations to inhibit bacterial and fungal growth and help ensure the product remains sterile over time. This is especially important in multi-dose vials or any product that could be exposed during handling.

Sterility in pharmaceuticals means manufactured and certified free of viable microorganisms, not just “bacteria can’t grow.” A sterile injectable product requires validated sterilization and preservation processes.

BA helps dissolve steroid esters that may have limited solubility in plain oil. Without a co-solvent, the steroid could precipitate or form crystals over time — reducing potency and causing inconsistent dosing

BA can slightly lower the viscosity of the carrier so the solution draws and injects more smoothly

BB is not ONLY a preservative — its primary purpose is to increase solubility of steroid esters in oil and keep them dissolved long-term. Idk bro why use soap when you can just rub patchouli oil all over yourself ? I guess single use amps will sometimes just use a carrier oil and no ba/bb but most of the time I’ve seen that it’s just EO and not mct.

MCT oil MAY BE LOW in bacteria and not SUPPORT microbial growth easily, but that does not make it inherently STERILE.

Every time you plunge your needle into a multi dose vial your risk contamination/bacteria being introduced

Why the C8 and C10 fatty acids in MCT show some antimicrobial/bacteriostatic activity at high relative innoculum concentrations, it would be irresponsible IMO for a vendor not to add BA as bacteriostat in their finished products. That is what insurance and margin of safety are designed for.

BA (at concentrations used) is a bacteriostatic agent for multi-dose vials. Keep any shit you contaminate the vial with from growing. Assuming oil in vial was properly 0.2 um filtered to begin with and hence sterile.

Im so behind on all this.
I just checked my test inventory, out of 7 to 9 vendors, all but 1 (including Axle) are clear. I've been using the beer colored test with good results. Maybe Im injecting piss, who knows.

I’m pretty sure it’s from raw oxidization or high heat while brewing, it’s just weird to pass it off as normal when they have batches that aren’t like that

You need to circle the MCT on the label.
Once you circle it, it immediately turns clear!

So depending on target API concentration and API desired one could argue only BA would be necessary for a suitable multi-dose product for injection with proper bacteriostat added.

And yes, you have to 0.2 um filter the finished oil to ensure sterility.

Aside from BU and TE, most compounds wont hold at 250mg/ml without BB.
Nobody wants to inject 2.5ml of 100mg/ml.
