Neutral or reverse grip incline DB press?

(Let's put aside the whole "there's no such thing as upper chest" issue that some get stuck on, that might be anatomically accurate, but it doesn't feel like it when working out.)

Which do you find more effective for building upper chest - the neutral or reverse grip incline DB press?

Neutral grip being the "hammer" type grip with elbows close to the torso, and palms toward torso

Reverse grip being DBs held with palms toward face - don't know if elbows should be tucked in or allowed to flare out?

If there's another, more effective, exercise when it comes to building upper chest, please share.

(Couldn't find a thread addressing this)

I really don't do either, so no comment.

But regarding that last line, have you tried the guillotine press? Really hits the upper chest better than anything else I've tried. Less awkward than reverse grips too.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I rarely use barbells for chest work - with my PT around, I use them, but normally I work out alone. We actually did guillotine press just the other day, and it does feel good, hits that area well.

In addition to the safety aspect, I don't like the way BBs shorten the ROM, I prefer DBs. Don't know if there's a performance edge with DBs, just "feels" like I get a more complete workout with them - is that just my imagination?

I don't think one is better than the other for building your upper chest. They both work. As far as which one is better for your shoulders, neutral grip. imo
