Hello all!
Introducing myself to your forum. I am not a bodybuilder, and honestly, don’t plan on being one. I am, however, a former triathlete, and then the ways of the world and constantly working took effect and I’ve gained weight and got older and have a slower metabolism than I used to (for a number of reasons) which is why I’m here.
I’ll start off with the most important thing: Thank you, MESO Rx, for helping me get on the right track towards solving my current predicament. I have used the knowledge all of you have shared to better manage my own medical condition through less-than-ideal methods. I have a disease I’m sure you’ve read at some point called Klinefelter’s Syndrome, or 47-XXY. I have an extra X chromosome which leads to all kinds of debilitating issues, the most notable one was lack of testosterone production within my own body, or primary hypogonadism for short.
I’ve come to the forum today to hopefully engage in actual conversation with people here to help me further understand my particular situation and the best approach by which to maintain normalcy in my life.
I am a 27 YOM, 6’ 4” and somewhere fluctuating between 240 and 250 lbs without much muscle to show for. I was a triathlete and major competitive swimmer pretty much from my first years of walking until the end of high school and into some of college. All that went with no treatment or unsuccessful medical treatment (patches, gels, buccal applications of testosterone, etc). I finally was placed on “testopel” some 8 years ago and had tremendous success with it, and never questioned anything. But then… changes in the US’s medical insurance policies reared back its ugly head of deniability of medical access to those that need certain medications and treatments. I lost the ability to use testopel under insurance, and out of pocket, let’s be honest, I don’t make a killing, and I just can’t afford it. However, my job demands that I remain at my absolute best, tip-top shape, as lives depend on it… literally.
I was prescribed testosterone cypionate about this time last year and it did well for a bit. My “specialist” (I think he’s a moron, but that’s another story) started me at 100 mg q7d IM… but I would feel star-spangled awesome about 24 to 48 hours after my injection and feel like crap after that for the remaining days before my next injection. With the help of a friend who used to be previously involved in bodybuilding, he put me on the right track and in contact with an SRC that could help obtain some of what I need… That’s when I was enlightened to the glorious wonders that an aromatase inhibitor could do for me, and helped me begin my journey into what would eventually become my near-obsession to understand, and manage my condition to the best of my ability. If it came down to it, I’d abandon physician-controlled medication regimen, as they seem to play this game of a) not thoroughly understanding my medical condition or b) severely underprescribe medication for me because of risks that have been disproven in even peer-reviewed research. That’s why I’m here.
I’m trying to understand the best approaches possible, and what my options are, to get the best treatment regimen possible to maintain “near-normal” as consistently as possible, with err on the high side because the low side really sucks. My physicians have kept me at a regimen that has proven, upon most recent bloodwork (this week), a 750 ng/dL serum test value and a 162 ng/dL serum test value (peak after injection and trough before injection, respectively) on a 5 day repeated interval. I’ve also been supplementing myself with anastrazole to curb the effects of the aromatization of testosterone. I’ve been told the half-life of cypionate is approximately 8 days, and that there’s some influence between SHBG values and the true metabolism of cypionate in the body… And that’s one of many questions I hope to be asking you all in the days to come.
Thank you guys, here, at MESO RX, for helping me get on the right track. I look forward to speaking with many of you all in the near future as I bring up topics on the forums that will help me accomplish my goals.
