New to this world

Hi, I'm a 47 year old construction worker and I really feel like I'm going downhill. I'm here to learn from other people's experiences. Righ now, I'm looking to possibly self administer TRT because of the crazy price clinics demand. I'm getting bloodwork done and I'll see from there where I'm going. I'm already familiar with peptides but am interested in the "kick" people report from TRT. Hopefully I'll find some useful information here! Thanks!

Welcome. What symptoms are you feeling that might be low T? Definitely get bloodwork done first. And if it comes back low don't immediately assume you need TRT. There are many natural things you can try to increase T levels. Most of them revolve around lifestyle. Remember, TRT is for life. You will be married to the needle for the rest of your days.

Tell us about your activity levels and training routine. Information on diet and sleep habits are beneficial as well. You'll find a lot of good information here using the search function.

Hi there! Thanks for the reply

I'm 47, I pretty much have all the symptoms from low test, low motivation, libido is getting worse rapidly and harder to to keep an erection for a while. No energy to do anything and don't even feel like doing the things I used to love. My sleep is shit, I get up at 4am for work and go to bed around 8-9pm but cannot fall asleep, I have insomnia big time. I try to use magnesium, melatonin and sleepeze and it sometimes help. I'm also very depressed when I shouldn't but that has been going on for almost all my life but the fact that I cannot perform at work like I should and the state that I'm in makes me hate who I am even more.

I was getting fatter (skinny fat) and decided to get a gym membership in August and I'm still trying to be consistent but I'm not giving up. I almost lost 20 lbs just taking 1 hour walks after dinner at a very fast pace (120-130) steps per minute, around 3-4 days / week. I cleaned up my diet and stopped all junk food and quit drinking 1-2 litres of chocolate milk per day. I don't really count calories on paper but I try to have at least my weight in grams of proteins or close.

I also abused speed for the past 15 years and completely quit a year an a half ago. Alot of party drugs also. I was VERY sleep deprived very often not sleeping for 2-5 days and working on top of that. I read that abusing stimulants on a long period of time can also affect test levels.

I'm in Canada and don't have a doctor but found a site where I can get my own bloodwork (TeleTest.ca). I'm actually getting tested tomorrow but I saw the blood test requisition and I think I fucked it up when I filled out the form. There's things missing and I'll probably have to redo it again. At least I'll see if my test is low and if it is I'll have to redo it properly. I'm using ChatGPT to help me do this and figure out what is wrong with my body.

Yeah, man. That's all the hallmarks of low T. You didn't mention your body compositions but it sounds like you're pretty active being a construction worker? Losing weight can raise natural T pretty substantially but it does sound like you'll need replacement. Def get that bloodwork to confirm. YOu don't want to start something that doesn't fix the root problem.

If you do get on TRT, I would just do real TRT (no blasts or TRT+). See how your body adapts for a while and also get your diet and gym training in order.

Plenty of time for experimentation down the road (I'm same age as you) if you're committed. You do this the right way and you can play this game for decades more. It's definitely about getting your house in order first.

I'm 5'10 164 lbs, was 180-183 lbs this summer. I must admit that I do feel better with this weight off. But I'm still skinny fat, just not skinny fat fat lol. I have a dexa scan but it was on my very first day at the gym when I hired a personal trainer. I should do another one soon, it's free with the gym membership anyway. I'm try to add muscle now but like I said, I'm inconsistent with going to the gym and want to slap myself for not going when I should.

I'm also a very heavy smoker and hate being addicted to that stinky shit, I tried quitting many times, maybe one day will be the good one.

Aa for now, all I can do is get the blood tests tomorrow and wait for the results.

Got to get my health back!

Nice job on the weight loss. Ya fuck that smoking shit bro...ruled my life for 19 years along with alcohol. I'm over a decade without a smoke and 6 years without a drink now. Never too late to start putting your health first. Don't wait till you get some bad news from the doc.

I'm not recommending drugs but I have heard that GLP-1s can be effective in not only weight loss but also addiction. There is evidence that they interact with the same receptors associated with addictive and compulsive behavior. Look into it.

Congratulations on quitting smoking! I know what it is. Good job on the drinking too!

As the matter a fact, I got a pulmonary embolism 3 years ago and got diagnosed with light emphysema shortly after. I mean, what more of a warning can I get!

I'm actually on retatrutide 1mg per week split in 2 doses. I just started, I'm going in my 3rd week. I also read many posts on reddit about people quitting smoking or drinking or at least helping and it's one of the reasons I'm taking it. Also to help with my metabolism and slowly loose some fat while I try to get my newbie gains. But what they say isn't bullshit, eating has become a challenge and I never was addicted to food in any way, it's the only rough part but I have absolutely zero side effects that this low dose.

Hell ya man, reta is the best. Changed my life no doubt. Dropped 45 lbs. in 3 months last year and never looked back. I'm now the leanest I've ever been in my life and jacked.

It just takes that one pebble rolling down hill to turn into an avalanche bro.

Yeah, well, you look fucking jacked on your avatar! If I shed too much more fat I'll be a skeleton and with reta, that could be very fast! Another reason to hit the gym often!
