Hello, I'm new to the group so please if I disrespect anyone I'm sorry in advance. I have been working out now for 8 months and looking into doing a cycle of Var. I have done my research but I'm not sure what to look for. I'm 48, 5'5" and 135 pounds. Problem area is my stomach and really want more mass in my quads and abs A LOT more defined. Any help or advise would be greatly appreciated. It's just me so I have no one to help me or support me on this journey. I do workout 6 days a week and I'm trying real hard to count my macros and eat the hell out of carbs. Oh I forgot to mention that at this time I'm not able to afford a trainer since I support myself but I will once I get my bills paid down.

I'm not sure a trainer is necessary if you're dedicated. For toned/defined abs, that's merely a game of lowering your body fat percentage enough for them to show. Yes, working your core does help to some degree but 95% of it comes from lowering bf.

As for mass in your quads, you'll need to eat more if you want them to grow. Anavar can help with retaining muscle during a cut, but if you really want them to grow you'll need to make sure you're eating more than you're burning.

It's hard to put on size + lose bf at the same time. It can be done, it just might not happen as fast as you would like. What I would do is cut your bf down to where you're happy with your abs, then do a small bulk to put more mass on your quads. If you see yourself putting on too much fat, cut back on the calories, if you're not growing add to the amount your eating.

Add or subtract calories in minor increments, I'm talking 100-200 calories as needed. Don't throw 1500 extra calories on because you don't feel like you're growing fast enough or you're gonna put on more fat than you want and it's gonna be a pain in the ass to get back off.

If you want to use anavar, you can use it during a bulk or a cut. My wife uses 10mg a day on a cut (5mg split morning and evening) and 20mg a day when she's trying to put on some more mass.

I'm not well-versed in var cycle, so I'm sure someone can help better than I.

Thank you for your time, I will definitely take this into consideration. I want to add more mass but not not around my middle so this scares me.

No problem! It's basically like adding more substance to a sculpture and then chiseling away at it to get the size you want.

As long as you're not eating waaaaay too much food and you're training hard, you'll add mass where you want it. Abs are just usually the first thing to go when you start bulking, so you'll just have to cut back down afterwards to get them as defined as you want. Keep an eye on the scale, keep an eye on the mirror and go from there. You'll get where you want!
