Im at the start of the 6th week in the dual factor 5x5, and havent gained one pound. I must have read every post here at meso and at elitefitness by madcow and i feel i did everything right. Even the strength gains have been small. I did the 2day week (mon, thur) deload just to be safe but still didnt get anything. I eat more than enough and diet couldnt be the problem. Has anyone else had a problem like this, or am i just not waiting long enough to see gains? I could post my workout recs if that would help.

How many calories are you eating per day? What is your macronutrient ratio?

If you are 30+ pounds over your normal limit, then you may have to use extraordinary measures to gain weight...such as eating til you really think you are going to puke, and then eating some more. If you are really eating that much and working hard on the 5x5 then I find it hard to believe you haven't gained a pound. Maybe you need more volume than the 5x5 offers, such as 5x8-10, but in most cases people think they eat a lot more than they really do.

Plain and simple.....if you aren't gaining weight, you aren't eating enough. It may be fat, it may be muscle, but there will be weight gain with enough intake.

Yep, if you haven't gained a lb in 6 weeks it is unequivocably because you are not eating enough. Period.

As far as I know... there's only one way to gain weight.

The truth has been stated, as it is simply a physilogical mathematical equation. If you still feel like you are eating enough, post your diet and size. It will either put you in the extreme category (rare), or point you towards what true eating is.

im adding 1000cal these last 4weeks, that was probably the problem, i just had read about people cutting and what not and still gaining. thanks guys, ill keep u updated

I guess if you train 5 days/week for hrs at a time you will need 5,000 calories but if you train 3X/week for 45min each session your not going to need as much. .. On a Dual Factor program,i say you need more calories
