Obligatory "New Guy" Post

Been lurking for a while and figured it was time to sign up.

Used to train religiously and am looking to get back into it. I got admittedly lazy for several years (thanks to several kids, lol) and I think the sedentary lifestyle and my former smoking habit contributed to stage 1 thyroid cancer (papillary carcinoma), which really screwed up my workout ambition for a while. Finally cancer-free and got my thyroid meds back on point, so I've been working out in a neighbor's gym for the last year.

I've been on a prescribed TRT dose of Test C (100mg/week) for about a year due to borderline low test. It may be all in my head, but I feel like I've made some decent strength gains in that time. I'm 6'3" & 220 pounds, down from 245. My goal is to get back down to 205 or so. Still got a little stubborn belly fat that I'm trying to combat with a half-assed Atkins diet and some extra cardio, but in pretty good shape aside from that.

About to up the T dose to 300mg/week and throw in 300/600mg/week of EQ for 15-20 weeks. I've got some Arimidex on hand if needed, but have been throwing in DIM supplements on the TRT dose and my estrogen has stayed in the low 20's. First cycle, so I figured I'd keep it mild. Plan to go back to TRT doses afterward.

My main question, which I haven't seen addressed much, is what - if any - effect any of the AAS might have on someone who had a total thyroidectomy? My endocrinologist makes me get bloodwork done every 2-3 months now for T4, T3, and TSH. So far, the TRT doesn't seem to have affected it. I'm assuming the EQ probably won't, either... but if I decide to cycle some of the heavier stuff down the road, I'm curious if there'd be anything to worry about.

Sorry for the long intro, but thanks for reading nonetheless.

Thanks for the welcome, everyone.

Welcome. Sorry I can't help with your question, I don't think I've ever heard of thyroidectomy.

I had my thyroid removed to prevent the spread of cancer. No big deal, I just have to take levothyroxine once a day for life. Small price to pay to be cancer free!

I'm just more curious what something like Tren and Deca might do to my artificial thyroid levels. I plan to run both of those at some point in the future.

Thought I'd update this post instead of cluttering the boards with new shit.

First cycle was pretty *meh*, but it was also pretty mild, so I wasn't expecting the world from it. Gained a few pounds of muscle and lost some fat. Still see a fatass every time I look in the mirror, so I'm mostly working on cleaning my diet up right now.

Planning my next cycle and want to bump the test up a notch when I pull the trigger. 600 test E/week and maybe some dbol for good measure is the goal. I'm on TRT and get regular bloods done for my thyroid condition, so I know going into it that my blood count, thyroid levels, and liver enzyme levels are clean across the board.

Still mostly going to be a lurker, but aspire to one day be at least half as jacked as some of the badass members around here!

Honestly with the amount of useless threads we've been having lately we could use some quality new ones to skew things back the right way, lol.

Haha, yeah, I took a little break over the winter and came back to lurk through the threads again before posting. Some of these threads had me scratching my head saying WTF?

Definitely a lot of trolls as of late. Just gotta sift through it or read it if you need a laugh.

Cycle sounds similar to my second one I ran last year. I didn't want to bump up too much on the test. I did go from 600 to 700 towards the end though.

Did you need an AI on 600-700? I don't seem to be prone to E2 issues on low doses (100-300/week) but not sure how I'll react on 600 or more. I want to shed several more pounds naturally before going on cycle again. Hoping a slightly lower BF% may make aromatization less likely. I'll still keep an AI on hand, just in case.

Yeah, I'm actually running 600mg a week of test again right now. I took 0.5mg of Arimidex on Monday, Wednesday and Friday of last week and will do that next week as well. Last cycle I was trying to treat the e2 number from bloodwork rather than symptoms and was using a ton of AI and this time I'm just going by symptoms. I never get sensitive nipples at all, but I do get a kind of an anxious and out of breath feeling, elevated blood pressure and more emotional in general and I'm going by that on how much AI to use. I'm trying to get the best results with the least amount of drugs in my body.

Thanks for the feedback, brother. I'll definitely be keeping an eye on symptoms when the time comes.

My dad and one of my cousins have both had the same surgery for the same reason. Its actually pretty common.

Welcome!

I didn't even know what a thyroid was or what its function in the body was until I had it cut out of me. As long as I stay on my Synthroid religiously, I honestly don't feel much different. But if I fuck up and forget a day here or there, I really feel it.

Keep an alarm clock set at 2:30am every morning now to remind myself to take it on an empty stomach with nothing but water. So far, so good.
