Been lurking for a while and figured it was time to sign up.
Used to train religiously and am looking to get back into it. I got admittedly lazy for several years (thanks to several kids, lol) and I think the sedentary lifestyle and my former smoking habit contributed to stage 1 thyroid cancer (papillary carcinoma), which really screwed up my workout ambition for a while. Finally cancer-free and got my thyroid meds back on point, so I've been working out in a neighbor's gym for the last year.
I've been on a prescribed TRT dose of Test C (100mg/week) for about a year due to borderline low test. It may be all in my head, but I feel like I've made some decent strength gains in that time. I'm 6'3" & 220 pounds, down from 245. My goal is to get back down to 205 or so. Still got a little stubborn belly fat that I'm trying to combat with a half-assed Atkins diet and some extra cardio, but in pretty good shape aside from that.
About to up the T dose to 300mg/week and throw in 300/600mg/week of EQ for 15-20 weeks. I've got some Arimidex on hand if needed, but have been throwing in DIM supplements on the TRT dose and my estrogen has stayed in the low 20's. First cycle, so I figured I'd keep it mild. Plan to go back to TRT doses afterward.
My main question, which I haven't seen addressed much, is what - if any - effect any of the AAS might have on someone who had a total thyroidectomy? My endocrinologist makes me get bloodwork done every 2-3 months now for T4, T3, and TSH. So far, the TRT doesn't seem to have affected it. I'm assuming the EQ probably won't, either... but if I decide to cycle some of the heavier stuff down the road, I'm curious if there'd be anything to worry about.
Sorry for the long intro, but thanks for reading nonetheless.
