TRAINING- SQUATS/SHOULDERS

Today was one of those frustrating days
where everything felt heavy AF. It was so blah I didn't even bother logging my workout.
I had to cram an early training sesh before work and my body DOES NOT respond well to AM workouts.
I think I would've made more gains had I stayed in bed sleeping.
I was in a bad mood, rushing, strength was nowhere to be found.
I was absolutely miserable :(

At least I forced myself to go to the gym and do something.

Tomorrow will be better.

On the bright side, my abs are starting to pop and I am super thrilled!!! Maybe once I add Albuterol I can start rocking a 6 pack?
I am absolutely pleased with the way Anavar was recomped my body. Of course, my training and nutrition have been on point. Anavar alone doesn't do miracles, just gives an extra kick.
I am gonna start trying to eat a little more for the rest of the cycle.
My metabolism is super high so gotta take advantage of it.
It's crazy. Today, I had close to 300g of carbs and my stomach is flat as a board right now. Love it!! Gotta enjoy it while it lasts right?

Inspired by my Avi took this picture for my ex and as a motivation to keep working my ass off every day at the gym.
7 more weeks to work on this baby!:p

Not quite the Maya Puliyska yet, but I'm damn proud of the progress I've made.

I've never had a problem committing but that typically was committing to total sexual destruction. [emoji3] Then I got married and the freak only comes out like once -twice a week.

D...before I put my 0.02 in - are you low bar squatting or high bar?

I have some input on 'le sqwat technique', but I haven't seen your preferred form yet. Perhaps coming at it from my trial and error and personal mini psychological studies on squats, I can give you some tips.

The smith machine, in most eyes, it's viewed as the most despicable pieces of gym equipment. Some lifters cannot even see the smith machine...

Squat pleateau for me there are 6 ways to break through.
In this order
-Vary rep ranges and sets
Have a heavy day (8x3) a light day (4x10) and a moderate day (5x5)
-Reverseband squat
-pause squats
-Chains
-Box squats
-Front squats


Make sure the form you have is for your goals. If you are looking to have better quads then high bar is best but if you are looking to push more weight then low bar is usually better. Videotape your squats from the side and we can help if there is a form issue. Videotap your squats from the back if you love the meso boys though;):rolleyes:
 
I almost always find myself sticking at the bottom. I don't use any equipment besides a heavy belt and chalk, so I don't get that bounce out of the hole that you would with sleeves or wraps. When I hit a plateau I like to overload with chains, heavy box squats, safety bar squats. Back off the low reps for 7-10 days and do a few 10x10 squat workouts...take 2-3 days off backsquats then go at it with a vengeance. I always squat heavy attempts in the cage with safety bars, I agree with @RodgerThat about not failing but for me having the peace of mind knowing I CAN fail let's me push through things I may bail on if I were on the platform. +1 on the pause squats...those have helped me tremendously with explosiveness. Probably the most influential squat variant in regards to my vertical jump development, maybe even more so then jump squats. Jump squats help with my rebounding jump off the bounce, but 1sec pause at the bottom then exploding up has helped develop my drop step jump off both feet. very solid variant
 
I would cycle through some squats at temp at a weight that is close to your max 4 seconds down 2 seconds at the bottom of the squat and back up, this is just a portion of strength cycles i run through on a 4 week basis.
