Oxandrolone (anavar) prescribes as an appetite stimulant?

I was doing a little reading on appetite stimulating drugs, like megastrol, which is a progestin, prescribed to people who are severely under weight, and general produces significant appetite increase. While reading I noticed there are only 3 drugs approved for appetite stimulation, and Anavar is one of them..? Orals generally destroy my appetite, which is why I was researching this topic in the first place. Have any of you guys ever noticed a significant increase in appetite while on anavar? I’ve never given it a fair shake, or a real cycle. Thoughts?

First PH cycle I ate a lot of food.

First Sust / Anadrol cycle I ate ALL the food.

Yes it’s fucking true! Oxandrolone it is a powerful stimulant of appetite, this happens because it is among the aas with the greatest anabolic effect, moreover it is more mild on the liver, than other oral aas.
When I use it I'm always hungry, even after big meals, so I add some cheat meal. But the nice thing is that even while eating more, during cutting, muscle quality continues to improve .. one of the best aas for my body!

Curious to know how much is used for pure appetite stimulation? I doubt it's 50mg per day

love var but it suspress my apettie. winstrol seems to raise it for some time and dbol but after some weeks appetite is suspressed again

I have been up to 100mg maybe even 120 at one point and I think I have never noticed appetite increase benefit chances are it is individual either or that I just ate a lot anyway

This was my idea as well. Anavar is always used in cutting cycles because it’s not known for its crazy mass gains.. but if it’s genuinely an appetite stimulant, it would probably be the best oral for adding to bulks for me.. I’ve recently tried adding anadrol, and even at 30mg a day, my appetite is destroyed. The acid reflux is so gnarly I don’t wanna eat more than 2000cal a day. I’m just injectables I’m hitting 4100-4500cal a day easily.

Dude anadrol has absolutely ruined my appetite.. been on test deca and DHB for 8 weeks, and gained a lot, eating between 4100-4500 calories daily. Added 30mg anadrol the past 4 days and I’m struggling to eat more than 2000cal because of its appetite suppression and crazy acid reflux.

I’m curious about this myself.. I might buy some of the 2.5mg Pharmaceutical grade anavar, and run it low dose for appetite stimulant purposes alone, as a bit of an experiment.

Actually I just looked up a medical study where AIDS patients were administered megastrol, and oxandrolone, and compared results. The Megastrol patients were given 800mg once a day, and the Anavar patients were given 10mg twice a day. Both had similar results in weight gain. Weight gain was similar, but with megastrol 39% of weight gained was lean body mass, and with oxandrolone 56% of weight gained was lean body mass.

Low appetite may very well be a sign of liver impairment among other things.

I would try to clean the liver before adding more drugs that will further burden it

Does it really outweigh the benefits tho? It has a pretty harsh effect on lipids iirc, even in low doses.

NAC and other TUDCAs don’t do much in the way of really cleaning the liver.
Look for coffee enemas and liver flushes protocols.
I’ve gotten so many stones out while doing these it’s unreal
