Package made it all the way to my town, sat for a day and a half, and then was shipped an hour away

My package from China made it through customs and all the way to my town, to the post office 2 miles away. It arrived a day and a half ago. There was no movement all day yesterday or today which concerned me. And now all of the sudden it's saying it arrived in a city an hour away from me. Note that it passed through that same city on the way here.

Do you think it broke and leaked and it was shipped out to be investigated? Or was this a dumb human routing error and they'll just resend it back to me?

I want to call and ask what's going on, but my concern is then I'm admitting it's my package and I'm expecting it. If I don't call, then it's just some random package a stranger sent me that I didn't know about.

Thoughts?

I've had that happen once with a domestic package... got to my city's post office and then fucked off a couple hundred miles away. It ended up coming back. I'd bet on just a simple human cock-up. Frustrating and worrying, but I feel like you'll get it... just a bit later.

Thanks that's what my rational brain tells me is the most likely scenario, but it's making me a bit paranoid and anxious. Hopefully by morning I'll see it heading back this way.

I'm assuming USPS? USPS is THE FUCKING WORST carrier on the entire planet. And for some reason nearly all the sources here insist on using it exclusively.

If I ever want something to actually get to me, DHL and FedEx are the only people I actually expect to successfully complete a delivery like they are supposed to.

Yeah it's USPS

it really feels like law enforcement would not be that retarded that they give you clues like 'package seized' 'redirected for inspection' etc in the tracking lookup. the only way I would see enforcement happening is very standard delivery + followup with a raid/warrant like in Bumstead case. i don't even see a controlled delivery happening

For the most part, this stuff is not a priority for LE outside of a handful of very unusual cases. And even in those, single digits a year in a country with millions of AAS users, very little happens. No one is sitting in jail for AAS possession. Cases involving AAS that are publicized disappear into nothingness. Even “kingpin” distributors making millions of dollars get minimal sentences unless they’re repeat offenders or involved in other types of crime.

Not saying you shouldn’t be careful, but when thousands of packs of oils, and even large quantities of raws are caught by the Feds in customs, what do they do? They send a letter telling you not to do it again. That won’t happen with other drugs. It’ll be a visit, not a letter.

That’s a good indicator of the fact AAS, while they are scheduled drugs, aren’t seen as a threat to communities. Most users are PILLARS of the community, simply trying to make themselves as fit and capable as possible. It would be nice if the law would catch up to that realization, but it is what it is. The only folks in prison with an AAS charge have it in conjunction with something like dealing meth, and the AAS are used to stack more time on them.

Counterpoint: most cops are in fact, highly retarded.

A "friend" of mine allegedly used to ship "devils lettuce" back in the day.. usps was cheaper and has lower risk for package inspection.. probably why its preferred today

This is just standard misrouting from USPS - google it - you'll see some funny stories. One guy's pack went from the east coast to hawaii before he got it back. I have family in AZ who send us stuff and it very often gets to our local post office and then directed to towns 20 - 50 miles away, then back again. Personal record was 9 days from the time it hit our local post office to when we actually received it.

I've been out of the game for a hot minute but used to, at least with other substances, USPS was actually safer due to the laws surrounding inspecting your package. Basically UPS / FedEx etc. can pretty much open and inspect your package whenever they feel like it, while USPS requires cause.

This, 100%! USPS is an absolute joke. I agree that op likely has nothing to worry about. I've had packs get stuck in the USPS loop for weeks. I've seen packs shipped all across the country as if it was a video game glitch but never seeming able to get to my city. Eventually they've all arrived but it takes time with that joke of an organization. We should expect nothing less from government run agencies. They are the epitome of inefficiency.
