Path to a 500 wilks

I decided to play around with wide stance SSB squats for awhile. Need to get some use out of the bar for what it cost.

Ha. Yeah, for sure. It's not necessarily a cheap gym bag item to collect dust.

I'm thinking my issue maybe is from sumo deadlifts? Not sure.. never had this kind of pain before. Lol. It's like a dull pain at the bottom of the hip joint on the outside just below the glute. Only hurts if I externally rotate or if I sweep my leg in.

My hip is usually my right hip and directly on the side like where the joint is. Doing sumo from a deficit really aggravates it.

How long you been pulling sumo? Might just not be used to it yet. I had more problems when I first started.

Ive had that pain from doing sumo

8 weeks now. Basically when I started this thread was right when I first started doing it.

Well, I think this confirms the strange pain I've never had is from the exercise I've never done. Ha. Makes sense.
 
Weight today was 184.8

Workout was,

4x8 bent over rows
4x12 pullups
4x8 seated cable rows
4x15 reverse flies
4x10 preacher curls

Figured if my hip needs some rest it probably wouldn't be a good idea to hit those heavy triples on deads today followed by paused squats. Lol. So just skipped them and did a little extra back work and a little extra hip mobility/stretching.

Was considering doing adductor work too. Not sure if it would help or not, so I skipped it for now.
 
Weight today was 186.2

Workout was,

1x3 squats @ 445lbs
2x3 squats @ 405lbs
3x8 paused bench @ 255lbs
4x12 pullups
4x12 bent over rows
4x15 reverse flies

Took a video of squats today. They felt a little goofy, but they moved decent for a "rpe 9" triple. Felt more like a 7.5.
 
Weight today was 187.6

Workout was,

1x3 Deadlifts @ 545lbs
3x5 deadlifts @ 455lbs
4x8 weighted pullups
3x8 bent over rows
4x15 reverse flies

Really happy with how smooth 545 moved. The last rep looked like a warmup.
