PEDS, training, and getting older.

When I was younger, I thought I was invincible and laughed when middle aged men told me my training and lifestyle would eventually catch up to me. I could train 4 hours a day, work a crazy demolition job day in and day out, attempt to lift insanely heavy things with little attention to my form, and live a generally reckless lifestyle.
In my youth I slipped a couple disks and suffered some concussions but that was about it...no major lasting pains really.
In the last 6 years I've suffered my first broke bone, a torn labrum, a rotator cuff tear, crackling knees accompanied by pain, started getting sciatica from my slipped disks, found out I have arthritis in my back, elbow tendonitis, found a bone spur shredding a tendon in my elbow...and the list seems to just be getting longer.
The middle aged men who warned me in my youth were right and I was wrong.

At this point in my life I'm trying to still do what I love and do it safely.

I'm wondering if there are any members here who have suffered the pains of aging and found any PEDS that helped. Nandrolone seems to help quite a bit with joint pain. I've heard of BPC possibly being of some benefit as well. Some have said there are great benefits that may come with low dose GH. I believe there may be other compounds that may also be beneficial. Can anyone chime in with some experience on their use of these or other compounds and how they have or have not benefited them as they've aged?

Thank you all.

You are my twin brother. I am in the exact position as you. While some say different compounds help with injuries IN MY OPINION,,, stretching, proper warm up and smarter training are more reliable in regards to what you seek than say deca. More rest between workouts, higher reps/lighter weight, etc. GH at 2 ius per day seems to have a good feel to it but I'm done tearing tendons/muscles so I train smarter instead. Hope this helps some. I'm sure some more experienced guys will chime in. They always do. Peace.

I for sure recomend GH like @Oldschool said.
2iu is a great starting point. (I like 4iu personally)
Helps by providing some minor water retention, great sleep and small healing properties.

No cure for old age, but you can certainly feel younger.
Currently running NPP, really helps the torn rotator cuffs.
I'll be doing my first BPC run after I PCT off this cycle.

Between the Nandrolone, Test, 2x shots GH ED, HCG... I'm a fucking pin cushion, dont think I can ha del another pin every day lol

I just turned 51 2wks ago. I've got pins, screws, rods in my left foot, right femur/hip, left hand, and right knee replacement. No arthritis now(right knee was trashed though). My left supraspinatus is torn off my humerus and 2 others are partially torn. Once the pain subsided I started lifting again. I actually pass all the rotator cuff tests now because doc said other muscles made up for it. I still cant let my elbows drop down past my ribs when benching though. Dont know if I'll have it repaired eventually or not, it's been about 15mos. I warm up a lot more than I used to and I'm not in any pain at this pt. Deca sounds good but long term it's not good for your heart.

Haha! Yeah, it seems like there are quite a few of us. I was having a conversation on Discord with another member of Meso about all this and decided to make a thread here for some feedback.

I've been extremely adamant about stretching, warm ups, and protective exercises for the last 6 years...very important to me at this point. Wondering if hormones and peptides can help augment our ability to avoid age related injury potentials and or help with the chronic injuries we've sustained.

Does the use of low dose GH lead to injuries?

I don't think so but I am very new to gh. I researched different compounds that supposedly increased collagen synthesis and healed joints and tendons. Read all the bro science and proceeded to RIP my bicep loose while on a heavy dose of var and eq:oops:
I do not have any experience with tb500 or other peptides but since I have adjusted my training to fit my age things seem to be coming around. Just my 2 cents. If you do find the holy grail please let me know!:)

Good to hear a second on using GH. What benefits do you feel like you've gained from using it? What do you feel it helps with age, chronic injury, etc?

Really looking forward to my upcoming cycle with NPP. Want to try BPC but don't know where a legit source would be. BPC isn't illegal but I've heard it's often faked.

Jesus christ John! You...are...a...fucking tank brother. My hats off to you for all the work arounds in the gym. That's absolutely incredible.

...I've also had to do 3/4 reps on bech some chest days. If I tuck or flare my elbows too much it just about kills me.

ALWAYS 3/4 reps on all pressing movements for me. Seems to keep my shoulders happy.

For helping with joint pain and tendonitis, my top two would be

1) GH

2) Deca

in that order.

1.5 - 2 iu is all I needed to notice significant improvements in joint comfort.

Deca seems to be more short-lived in terms of the benefits. Where as using GH has seemed to give lasting benefits, some of which linger after no longer using the GH, Deca's benefits in terms of joint comfort seem to only last while I'm actually using the drug.

For Deca, 200mg EW has been plenty for me.

Lastly and perhaps more importantly, finding exercises that don't aggravate my joints and finding a training program in terms of volume, frequency and intensity that allows me to accomplish my goals while still keeping my joints happy has been huge.

On top of the GH and Nandrolone protocols previously mentioned, I have found regular biweekly chiropractor adjustments, deep tissue massage and ART to breakdown scar tissue and an overall focus on proper posture and mobility work to help live a more pain free life. If you can increase and maintain proper range of motion through your thoracic spine, hips and ankles, it will prevent mobility restrictions throughout the entire body.

Problem with deca or npp is it’s temporary. As soon as you quit taking it whatever masking it was doing for joints will rear it’s head back up.

Great advice! I have a standing massage every 3 weeks. Some weeks it’s just deep tissue all over working shit out. Some weeks I’ll have something nagging me and she work on that the entire hour and half. I’m am in search of a good chiro near me. The one I had retired. Both are life savers imo.

switch to hypertrophy high volume training if you're still going for PRs or doing power lifting type training.

if you can't rep it 8+ times don't do it. i'd rather take a blow to the ego and stop heavy lifting than hurt myself with a young mindset and aging body and then be out of commission for weeks or months.

Glad to see there are some "older" guys on here still kicking ass. In 2020, I'll be 52. Doesn't matter how much gear we run, or still thinking we are bullet proof, just can't beat father time. As others have said, training smarter is the key. I'm a big fan of stretching and warming up properly. I had to reach a point where I was willing to check my ego at the door. Just like others, I'm beat up from living and for me, not respecting my body when I was younger. Played football for years, wrestled, ran track, and was a catcher for baseball...knees are fuct. .lol..People may not agree, but I only train 1 body part a day and lift moderately heavy..Whenever I lift too heavy for too long, I hurt something. The Smith Machine is now my friend...haha..Getting older isn't for sissies..Glad to know there are others on here that are older and still get after it..Hope everyone has a Merry Christmas and Happy NewYear..Thanks to op for this thread

I find the additional water retention from GH is helpful to prevent injury.
The sleep qaulity is quite nice too.
I havnt experienced the lethargy that some do, if anything I feel better from a good nights sleep

Deep tissue is the shiiit! What is ART?

I respect the guys that powerlift at this age but I just don't have it in me to be trying to shoot for 1RM's on a consistent basis...to much stress on my body. I'll generally shoot for 8-12 reps on most lifts but I'll run dropsets to failure.

Yeah brother, it's good to hear from and get experiences from other older members...the game is somewhat more different for us than it used to be when we were unstoppable.
The older I get the more I appreciate post-workout yoga.
Yoga is the shit. Starting a class on Tuesdays to increase my mobility.

Active Release Technique, which is a specialized soft tissue manipulation to break down scar tissue in the fascia and muscles to increase blood flow to soft tissues, realign body structures and increase mobility. Often 2 treatments are all that’s needed to readjust the body back to normal.
